Any suggestions......I was thinking Betty but with our surname I'm not ure if it goes Betty Brophy?!

I love Frieda and Nancy suggestions, but Betty Brophy sounds really cool to me.

If you're Irish would you consider Bridget, nn Biddy?

Sweaty betty

I like them both! I'd go with Elizabeth on the birth certificate though, to give her options. Or Beatrice.

My grandmother was Melba and her sister were Betty and Shirley. smile

Thank you for all your great suggestions, I think I'm pretty sold on Betty or Betsy!

My choice would be Joany...but doesn't go with Brophy....Betty Brophy a bit of a mouthful, but mostly OK. I think you'd have to go with Elizabeth on the BC.

Martha Brophy is brilliant. The child would be an over achiever.

My nan was Beatrice, always known as Betty, you could have that as a full name rather than Elizabeth?

Betsy jean Brophy is a cool name...

Perhaps spell it Bettie (like Ms Page) if you want it to be less matching with your surname?

I love Betty. Fabulous name. Also like Peggy and Joan.

I would use Elizabeth and then have Betty as the nickname. Betty Brophy is tremendous. But then I like these types of names!

Yfronts Betty Jean is gorgeous!

I know two little Bettys and a Betsy, lovely names. I like all the short versions of Elizabeth and the advantage for your Dd is she can choose the one she likes best when she gets older. And so can you!

Yfronts Tue 05-Mar-13 20:48:15

I like Betty with your surname!
Jeannie or Joannie and Betsy are good too.

I'd go for Betty Jean Brophy

VivaLeBeaver Tue 05-Mar-13 20:43:55
