Iris, definitely! It sounds fresh and pretty, the other two sound a bit stodgy to me.

Erica - no real reason except I've always liked it x

Sorry Toast, I'm sure you're not! Perceptions of names are so weirdly subjective - I was just going to leave it at saying I liked Iris best, but then saw she'd asked for reasons!

Like them all, but love Iris most of all.

Iris is lovely!

Iris - light, fresh, timeless

Erica - very bad associations, I am not saying why, as some might get offended

Bridget - okay feel neutral about it

I like Iris and Erica (in that order) but Bridget always sounds a bit harsh to my ears somehow.

What will the middle name be?

Iris and Bridget.

Not keen on Erica.

I like Iris best of the three. I think it sounds the prettiest.

Heather means the same as Erica (although I'm not sure about Heather either. My dad was going to be called Heather if he'd been a girl)

Iris - lovely
Erica - not sure. On principal I like it, but can't get past Eric, which I don't like. Bit Like Alana and Alan Confused
Bridget - no, cos I don't like the nn Bridge.

Iris, dislike the other two but like this a lot.

I like Bridget and Iris, not keen on Erica (feminised boy's name)

Perhaps Bridie as softer version of Bridget?

Report
Beamur · 10/09/2012 18:05

I love Iris, think Bridget is a real character name and like it a lot. Erica I'm less keen on (would you consider Heather as an alternative being the common name for 'erica' the plant)

In order of preference:
Iris - love this wish we could use it but we can't, pretty but strong at the same time
Bridget - I've always liked this name
Erica - not sure, the sound is a bit like a hiccup to me....!

I think Iris is lovely too, but, and this may not bother you at all, don't you get the feeling that along wiith Eva, you won't be able to move in some areas without falling over one?

I say this as someone who picked rather unusual names at the time for her DDs and later realised that they were part of an increasingly popular 90s trend. Still love them - just turned out that lots of other people loved them too. I get the same feeling about Iris.
