Im having another girl!

Middle name is to be Rose. Dh has vetoed my favorite, Magda, yet again. Ive vetoed his first choice Barbara. We are down to Imogen, Tabitha or Phoebe. Any opinions, or other ideas?

All lovely - Hebe is another option

Noooooo, not Tabitha! Imogen is the best of your three.

How do you pronounce Hebe? Hee-bee or Hee-b?

Ive used up all my favorite girls names, and was trying to get Magda through this time.

I like Isolde, but dh not convinced. I was kind of hoping to have a chance to use Tristan this time!

Tabitha - it's lovely

I love Phoebe. It was my first choice for DD but my cousin pinched it used it first.

Personally, Phoebe. The Biblical spelling is Phebe and I'd probably use that.

That's a very personal thing though. To me Imogen = nasty, spotty, sweaty girl and Tabitha = cat.

How about Ianthe instead of Isolde? Or Madeleine instead of Magda?

Report
kitsonkittykat · 13/06/2012 12:51

I actually love Madeleine, but I always think "Macann" rather than "the smallest of them was madeleine" when I hear the name, so its out for me. Ianthe is rather lovely and going on the list I think.

how about Xanthe?

or Merryn?

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 13/06/2012 12:57

Good luck in choosing between them! I certainly couldn't! They are all beautiful. Smile

Im at a loss too SkinnyVanilla! Now Im thinking Merryn/ Merry is really lovely too! Dh might actually not complain too much about giving up Barbara for that! On the other hand, Im more than a little bit in love with Imogen Rose. Not as much as Magda or Isolde/Iseult, but no way on earth is he going to go for either of those! Grin

Seriously it was all sorted. I was convinced I was having a boy, and going to get to use Tristan this time!

Madeleine makes me thinks of those dinky little French buns

I wish I still thought of Proust and not abducted child tragedy when I hear Madeleine! It is a lovely name. I really should do some work, but instead mulling over names!

Tabitha! Such a cute name for a little girl and an appropriate name as an adult. You could nickname her Tabby!

Phoebe ould be my second choice (lovely name) Imogen doesn't enter the picture..Hatehatehate that name lol.

Phoebe is nice.

Tabitha is horrid.

Merryn is a very harsh-sounding name.

would be on a par with Barbara for me!

Tabitha for me, I love it

badtasteflump · 13/06/2012 14:23

I love Tabitha and Phoebe.

I used to think Imogen was ok but the name has been tainted for me by that horrible woman with huge tits.

I've got an Imogen so obv. my Fav.!!!

I found a great way of getting fav names through if DH doesn't (or more correctly isn't going to agree) Do what I did. Don't mention the name at all until you've just given birth and then announce that you love a certain name!!! Wink

If you do go for Imogen Rose, did you know that Lush do a fragrance by that name because one of the founders had a little girl by that name. End of useless info from me!
