Do any of you make christmas cards in bulk?

If so...

When do you start to make them?
Do you have certain designs?
How much do you charge?

The reason I ask is that I normally buy my cards from Studio and the brochure will be due any day now but I thought if any of you made them in bulk I may order.

Hi NBG
What figures are you taking when you say bulk?
Do you want them personalised?
What kind of price are you looking to pay?

I normally buy about 40 to 50, not personalised.

Erm... Simple I think. I'm not one for all these fancy traditional type cards.

I have seen some handmade ones on the studio website which just have some stars hanging from the top of the card and a little tree in the middle. Thats the sort of thing I like.

Do you have any piccies or samples?

I made in bulk last year for all of mine. The ones going to not so close people were dry embossed with a christmas theme and I was going to start this years soon. My friend took my extra ones and got about £1 a card for them. I sold them in packs of 5.

Eeek.. that would be £40 then.

It varies as they have offers on certain ones.

The handmade ones were £3.99 for 5
The other nicer ones were £3 for 15 and some on offer £1.99 for 15.

They don't have to be 3D.

Have you got any already done that I could look at?

i think it is a huge bargain to pay £1 for a handmade card!

none of us could compete with studio prices but we all beat studio's quality!!

I know you lot make gorgeous cards.

I might buy my bulk lot from Studio then and get my family ones from you lovely Mnetters

I have loads of them to get anyway.

Please let me know when you will start making them as I have alot of family and it would be nice to buy early.

Just loading 2 of mine from last Xmas into my folder! But I think trying to compete with Studio prices would be very hard. I was personalising these A5 cards and selling them for £2, people kept on telling me to put my prices up!!!
Prices could be reduced by buying in in "bulk" , reducing the size of the card, but the same amount of materials and work still goes into them IYSWIM.

Never really sold in packs before, perhaps it is worth thinking about this year as an extra fundraiser for my Downs Syndrome group.
Has anyone got any more feedback on pricing for packs please?
