Would really love to do a weekly activity with ds, any ideas?????

I have searched the internet for something suitable but no luck.

Did lots of things with dd, i feel my ds has been slightly neglected. Fancied something crafty, any ideas???? Thanks

can suggest lots of things to do at home, like umlellala says though, it's all messy play , hand printing then cut them out and make mobiles out of the shapes, get him to print with his finger tips all over a sheet of paper then when its dry, use a felt tip and draw faces, arms and legs to make them into little people. as he's so young, get lots of smallish cardboard boxes, paint them different colours and draw windows on them, you can stack them up and he can knock them down. for out of the house activities, library, church hall or local village hall are usually the best places to start.

where i live there is a play and learn session on once a month, for 0-3 yrs, lots of different activities, painting, collage, books to read etc. the first time i went, the messy play area was a small blow up dingy filled with oats!! (dry oats btw), but the kids loved it, made a huge mess, if you were doing it at home, i'd do it outside!, but the kids loved it. a couple of months after that, they did the same things again but this time filled it with cornflakes. they loved crunching them all up and harmless if they decide to eat them too!

Huh? No, I mean Messy Play sessions - do you have a local Surestart/Children's centre? We have a few who run these as free drop-in sessions.



Or you could start something yourself. My friends and I used to do our own (free) music session in each other's houses...

I am at home all day tom with them as my dh working.

If the weather permits i will try the cornflakes idea in our garden.

other ideas, get some large pieces of paper (cheapo lining paper is good for this), lay it out on the floor and tape together so it's the size you want, then build a train track or road out of something like brio on top, and on the paper around the track, you can draw your own town and people.

also, your dd can get involved in this one too, lay a length of the lining paper on the floor and get them to lie down, you draw their outline in felt tip, they can then draw their own features, colour themselves in or collage it to make a self portrait. get your dd to draw around you then they can both colour in mummy too.

boys love this one, get a big cardboard box, cut the lid off it completely, the cut a window screen shape from the front, and shape the rest of the box like a car, he can sit in it and use it as a den. we did this once and made it into the scooby doo mystery machine!
