Until recently he has done a manual job which left him filthy.

He would shower and shave as soon as he got home from work and go to work in the morning, as he fell out of bed (did brush his teeth)

At weekends he would have 1 shower and 1 shave a day. i.e if he was going to be gardening later, "there's no point showering in the morning" regardless of what might have gone on during the night , or how warm it was etc.

I always, without fail shower when I get up. If I need another one later, I have it.

I work (in an office) with a load of lovely, sweet smelling, perfumed men and I do find myself wishing that he'd make the same effort.

He now works in a office, but has stuck to the same routine and always comes home stinking, which must be horrid for those he works with. It's weekends that bother me TBH, because he's just not nice to kiss/cuddle unless it's within an hour or so of his evening shower.

He also refuses to shave more than once a day. I know some men don't need to, but he does and because he shaves in the early evening, he spend most of the day looking (and feeling) decidedly unshaven.

Point out to him that someone might say something to him at work that he smells and how much more that would be rather then listening to his wife.

YANBU and I sympathise. My DH doesn't shower etc as much as I think he should - works in a sporting environment so in smelly trainers all day every day - I think he should shower every night when he comes in, but some nights he baths with the kids, others he doesn't do anything and showers in the morning! Yuck! Gets into bed without showering after a hot day (in the summer) out on the sports pitches. Rank, but he won't listen to me. Good luck.

If he showers and shaves every day, then surely the issue must be that he doesn't use antiperspirant or something? surely one shower a day is enough for anyone unless they do something very physical or dirty that necessitates having another.

one shave and shower a day should be plenty but i think he should change his routine and shave and shower before he goes to work now that he's working in an office he should be clean shaven for work surely?

YABU. I don't shower in the morning if I've had one the night before. Well i might if i've had a shag - i don't really recall if i do every time or not tbh. I can understand why when doing a manual job he would shower when he got in from work but working in an office doesn't exactly build up a sweat so I can't see that he would need to shower then but if he wants to that's up to him. If I shave my legs in the evening I wouldn't shave them again in the morning but I suppose that's different?

I often shower in the evening (well all the time at the moment with no-one to watch DS3 in the mornings) - don't then shower again the morning.

In fact if I've got something on the next day in the morning I've always showered the night before so I don't have to do it in the morning. Quick "bits and pits" swish and swipe in the morning, squirt of deo and set to go - no faffing around with showering, washing hair, drying hair etc etc etc
