AIBU?

To throw away every last bit of 'food' my brother has dared to tarnish my house with?

Sigh.

He came yesterday, he's moving into a new shared house on Saturday. I really regret letting him stay here 'between houses'. Already!

He has set up his two computers, four monitors and laptop, oh and xbox 360 , a mini fridge and microwave in my spare room and has barely left the room.

There are cables and stinky trainers everywhere.

But his biggest crime is the food. Last night I made a really tasty dinner. He said he wasn't hungry then half an hour later plonked himself on the sofa with a huge box of horrid looking fried 'chicken' which stank the house out.

This morning he's been shopping and bought 12, yes 12, 'rustlers' burgers (nasty microwavable things) 8 litres of pepsi and micro chips. I didn't even know micro chips existed anymore! These burgers are so horrid and they smell so so bad.

I swear I'll have to get the curtains drycleaned before the smell comes out fully.

My mum will be furious if I let him eat like that, but he's an adult, and I have little choice. No wonder he was kicked out of his old house.

His micro fridge is full of beer. And there are two bottles of vodka in my freezer. At least he taught me something new. Vodka from the freezer is actually rather good.

These burgers are actually quite expensive. he paid £1.69 each for them from the shop across the road. We have a fab turkish grill nearby that will do a proper burger for £2 with actual meat in it and salad. but thats too much hassle apparently.

I suppose from his point of view he's buying his own food, thus you don't have to go to the expense of feeding him. Plus he's sharing his vodka with you

It is annoying when people cook stinky food (my brother and sardines ) but he's only there for a few days. Enjoy his brief company, before long he'll be gone again and if he's like any student I know, you won't see him for ages.

He sounds like a normal single bloke tbh - but can see why it's annoying!

I saw an ad for those 'burgers' and thought yuk who buys those!!!!

Sounds like brother used to be. He onced rinsed off the sauce that my Mum had prepared from a recipe. Just stuck the chicken still on the fork under the hot tap and let it run for a minute. My Mum was

Now, ten yrs on, he can give you a commentary on best restaurants in the vicinity and why they are good and bad. The same person.

Hang in there. He may yet turn into a gourmand. If that is the word?

I had my feckless younger brother to stay between houses once. My sympathies. The good news is that our relationship has now fully recovered .

the smell doesnt stay long. my butchers do great burgers for 50p but you have to cook them and put them in buns and stuff your bro is right too much effort.

i always keep vodka in the freezer and im still amazed that it doesnt freeze.

Aren't all younger brothers feckless though? I have three, they hang around my Mum's house like a bad smell, reprogram her computer so she can't use it, eat her out of house and home and only one of them has ever held onto something approaching a decent job. I think feckless is actually in their terms and conditions

mmm flavoured vodka. Have you tried it with worthers originals?

Tequila, they just disolve themselves, you can do it with chocolate too. Aftereight mints are good, or just fruit.

I'm off to look for spare voddy

Nasty pretend burgers that microwave in 5 seconds or something. They smell so bad.

I must try that opal fruits thing. Yum!

you just put starburst into a bottle of vodka and leave it? How long does it take to dissolve?

I am defeated....I truly cannot comprehend how people interested in putting starburst or after eight or werthers into vodka (for heavens sake) can begin to complain about a rustler burger - whatever it may be.

Try the rustler burger in vodka??

Blu - sausage and mash with onion gravy and greens.

Tonight I'm doing a thai green surry, I hope he'll be tempted. My mum's already hassling me for gossip on him. She even rang this morning to see if he'd had a shower. Truthfully I don't know. But he'd better have one at some point.
