what time would u ask ur kids to kalm things down and should i say something there being very loud and my 3yr old in bed

noonki Fri 08-Aug-08 21:43:45

I guess about 11pm when I would be annoyed adults were up

noonki Fri 08-Aug-08 21:44:09

because I would be jealous!!!

I feel sorry for you... How annoying. If it's a one off i would just leave them until they stop anyway. You risk bad feeling by saying anything and if it's not something they do often then it's not worth it.

However, if it's a common occurance i would leave it tonight but have a quiet word tomorrow. The adults may have had a few beers and may react badly if you say anything tonight.

ps. Unless its a one off party ( of which i can't remember the last) mine are always in by 8.30 at the very latest.

Can you have a word so that they are quiet while your 3YO goes to sleep (assuming the other kids are older)

We used to have neighbours who were very noisy, but we had a deal where they turned the noise down while the kids went to sleep - once the kids were asleep, we were happy for them to turn it up again...

Might be a compromise.........

stoppinattwo Fri 08-Aug-08 22:12:20

actually tis they're grin wink

GetOrfMoiLand Fri 08-Aug-08 22:14:28

I wouldn't be too fussed tbh, it will be pissing down and freezing cold soon, the trampoline won't get used for months.

It's the summer holidays and a Friday, don't think they're being unreasonable.

stoppinattwo Fri 08-Aug-08 22:21:42

just think of the lie in you will get grin

fifflegumps Sat 09-Aug-08 05:45:56

We're quite a noisy lot but the kids are off the trampoline by 8.00 - there is all day to make noise - and we do. Knock next door and ask politely if they can keep the noise down as 3yr old's bed time. Although, I suppose if you have a neighbour who put's their children to bed at 6.00, it is difficult to keep your older children quiet then!

branflake81 Sat 09-Aug-08 07:54:36

I think YABU. It's the summer holidays and the world can't be expected to stop because a small child is asleep. Otherwise we'd all be tiptoeing around from about 7:30.

Slouchy Sat 09-Aug-08 08:29:21

Both actually.

their in title; (their trampoline)
they're in OP; they're being loud.

popsycal Sat 09-Aug-08 08:35:27

talking about there in the title.......

popsycal Sat 09-Aug-08 08:36:08

they're in the op.....

ScottishMummy Sat 09-Aug-08 08:44:27

it is really snippy to comment about spelling and obviously understood the OP enough to contribute so the grammatical error was no impediment

starscream Sat 09-Aug-08 08:45:42

i come on here for advice not a spelling lesson, its a shame people like u are using this site

popsycal Sat 09-Aug-08 08:47:19
