I would like to come as well. What is the point of even buying DD lovely dress in Monsoon kids sale which started today if she will have to wear it over jeans, wellies and with a fleece?
Is really getting me down.
Is not only wet but damp and chilly.

To cheer you up

My DH is from Italy - spoke to his mum this morning and it is grey on the Italian Riviera apparently .

However I bet it is grey and warm.....

I live in Spain (the hottest dryest part)

It´s only July and I feel I have had a enough of summer already...38 celsius everyday is a bit too much.

I miss London {wink}

I just want to live somewhere where it is sunny and warm for more of the year than it wet and grey and cold.

I am so with you on this. I'm from SA and there you have 3 months of winter in which highs still easily reach mid to late teens if not early 20s in the day (admittedly cold mornings and nights) but the rest of the year i.e. 9 MONTHS is summer. There is no spring or autumn. OR rather, their spring/autumn is hotter than our summer.

I don't even like excessive heat but the contstant miserable weather sucks out my will to live. You can't plan to do anything summery. We are holding a 'summer party' in three weeks time for 30 adults and 30 kids. If it rained I am quite frankly fucked.

I would just like an even temperature all year round. Not too hot, not too cold. Just enough so you would never need to wear a coat ever again. Rain could come during the night but quietly - no thunderstorms or the like.

We left Africa when I was 9, I am 41 now and still can't get used to the weather

I love Scotland and don't want to go back to the insecurity I feel in Africa (have visited family a few times and just can't relax, can't sleep) but I adore the climate and countryside.... I am alaway amazed how people strip off at the merest glimpse of sun here, I'm still coverd in long sleeves and jumpers brrrrrr!!!

The sun and being warm makes me happier, not that I want a deep tan or anything, just to feel warm........ [wistful emoticon]

Got heaps of washing everywhere, a bath full of umbrellas and I foolishly invested in wetsuits this year for all 3 dc,have been used once!!!!!!!!

The 1st day we get with even a glimmer of sunshine (some time in October)dc are going to be frogmarched down to the beach whether they like it or not.

I'm sick of rain and gloomy skies.
Living near the bloody pennines oop north means it is permanently grey, rarely sunny although though I know the weather is bad for everyone this week.

forecast for 21st July to 3rd August

The Azores High pressure, which is often responsible for settled weather over the UK during the summer months, looks set to make a return this week. As it drifts up from the mid-Atlantic the southern half of the UK will feel its influence first and drier, sunnier weather is expected for many. However the influence of the Azores High tapers off as we move north, with Scotland looking set to stay rather wet.

The sunshine in the south will bring higher than average temperatures for this time of year.

something to look forward to. Unless you live in scotland!
