this grey weather makes me so down.

i am thinking of moving abroad, with or without my family, right this minute.

either that or one of those sun lamps for SAD.

sashmum Wed 09-Jul-08 14:32:01

Can i come?

This weather is really starting to get on my nerves and bet it doesn't cheer up for the kids school holdays either!

Forecast is crap for rest of the week as well

misdee Wed 09-Jul-08 14:45:11

if u can fit in my suitcase, then yes.

MsBombastic Wed 09-Jul-08 14:45:36

I would like to come as well. What is the point of even buying DD lovely dress in Monsoon kids sale which started today if she will have to wear it over jeans, wellies and with a fleece?
Is really getting me down.
Is not only wet but damp and chilly.

McDreamy Wed 09-Jul-08 14:47:47

Oh I want damp and chilly, this sunshine lark is not all it's cracked up to be you know - I can't wait to get back to the UK. only 9 sleeps to go grin

sophiebbb Wed 09-Jul-08 14:47:51

To cheer you up

My DH is from Italy - spoke to his mum this morning and it is grey on the Italian Riviera apparently grin.

However I bet it is grey and warm.....wink

I live in Spain (the hottest dryest part)

It´s only July and I feel I have had a enough of summer already...38 celsius everyday is a bit too much.

I miss London {wink}

mum2oneloudbaby Wed 09-Jul-08 15:02:19

i'm with you, where do you want to go?

that said in-laws just back from 2 mths touring the med and it has rained the majority of the time.

Jux Wed 09-Jul-08 15:07:07

I just want to live somewhere where it is sunny and warm for more of the year than it wet and grey and cold.

JoshandJamie Wed 09-Jul-08 15:48:56

I am so with you on this. I'm from SA and there you have 3 months of winter in which highs still easily reach mid to late teens if not early 20s in the day (admittedly cold mornings and nights) but the rest of the year i.e. 9 MONTHS is summer. There is no spring or autumn. OR rather, their spring/autumn is hotter than our summer.

I don't even like excessive heat but the contstant miserable weather sucks out my will to live. You can't plan to do anything summery. We are holding a 'summer party' in three weeks time for 30 adults and 30 kids. If it rained I am quite frankly fucked.

i am just going to say that I fed fed up of the weather, i am down, and i feckin hate it.

i will read your thread now.

piratecat Wed 09-Jul-08 15:53:31

yes i wonder how many actual days of nice sunny weather we wil have had so far this year.

i reckon about 12 in devon.

Fimbo Wed 09-Jul-08 15:56:18

I would just like an even temperature all year round. Not too hot, not too cold. Just enough so you would never need to wear a coat ever again. Rain could come during the night but quietly - no thunderstorms or the like.

<<dreams on>>

We left Africa when I was 9, I am 41 now and still can't get used to the weather sadsad

I love Scotland and don't want to go back to the insecurity I feel in Africa (have visited family a few times and just can't relax, can't sleep) but I adore the climate and countryside.... I am alaway amazed how people strip off at the merest glimpse of sun here, I'm still coverd in long sleeves and jumpers brrrrrr!!!

The sun and being warm makes me happier, not that I want a deep tan or anything, just to feel warm........ [wistful emoticon]

JoshandJamie Wed 09-Jul-08 16:05:57

A sunny day just holds so much more potential...

MilaMae Wed 09-Jul-08 16:06:11

Got heaps of washing everywhere, a bath full of umbrellas and I foolishly invested in wetsuits this year for all 3 dc,have been used once!!!!!!!!

The 1st day we get with even a glimmer of sunshine (some time in October)dc are going to be frogmarched down to the beach whether they like it or not.

expatinscotland Wed 09-Jul-08 16:06:53

is there any room for me in your case?

getting the washing dry has become a fucking nightmare!

piratecat Wed 09-Jul-08 16:09:12

i went to my mums a few weeks back, she lives in spain and it was so lovely to wake each morning and there was blue happy sky.

Lizzylou Wed 09-Jul-08 16:11:47

I'm sick of rain and gloomy skies.
Living near the bloody pennines oop north means it is permanently grey, rarely sunny although though I know the weather is bad for everyone this week.

MilaMae Wed 09-Jul-08 16:15:20

I know!!!!!!!!!

The tumble dryer is glinting in the corner saying-"use me,you know you want to".!!!!!!!!

MilaMae Wed 09-Jul-08 16:16:34

Somebody reassure me this isn't it for the summer, please,my dc break up on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!

brightongirldownunder Wed 09-Jul-08 16:19:20

Don't know if it helps but its bloody freezing in Sydney at the moment. I know its winter here but its much colder than it should be.

Nagapie Wed 09-Jul-08 16:21:18

In Cape Town they have had record rains and my mum and dad haven't seen the sun for over two weeks!! That will teach them...

Ecmo Wed 09-Jul-08 16:21:23

forecast for 21st July to 3rd August

The Azores High pressure, which is often responsible for settled weather over the UK during the summer months, looks set to make a return this week. As it drifts up from the mid-Atlantic the southern half of the UK will feel its influence first and drier, sunnier weather is expected for many. However the influence of the Azores High tapers off as we move north, with Scotland looking set to stay rather wet.

The sunshine in the south will bring higher than average temperatures for this time of year.

something to look forward to. Unless you live in scotland!

piratecat Wed 09-Jul-08 16:23:21

where did you find that, (she says hanging on to every word, and clasping it to her bossom).!
