Anyone else have that Sunday feeling?

It's that time of the week again...

I feel down, in mourning for the weekend. Here we go again - another 5 days of work, dinner, sleep, Work, etc etc.

Work isn't even that bad when I'm there, the feeling on Sunday evenings is the worst bit.

Anyone else feeling the same.

Yes, a bit. I love my weekends and don't really enjoy my job so there's always a bit of a sinking feeling on Sundays

I love Sunday evenings - I use them to plan for the week ahead and make a bit of an occasion out of it. I have a vanilla candle burning, a face mask on and organisational YouTube videos playing while I fill in my planner. Then bath and podcast after dinner and an early night!

I feel like that on a Sunday it's horrible. Used to be a lot worse when. I was at school.

I love definitely got that Sunday feeling.

I like my job and Monday is usually not too stressful in my role (mid week is much busier).

But the weekend seems to fly by...

I don't work Mondays so I never get the Sunday feeling. It is a source of constant joy for me.

Yes I used to feel like this until I went part time and have Mondays off and it's horrible. I had it bad when at school and think I just associate it with that memory. Have something to look forward to in the week OP. Give yourself a treat each eve, just something small maybe. I think the lighter summer evenings help as the days are longer and it doesn't just feel like only work. Remember the weekends wouldn't feel so great and looked forward to if we were off all the time! It's a bit like having Xmas Day every day, it wouldn't really mean much iyswim!

I woke up this morning with that feeling, it’s ruined my day! I never sleep well on a Sunday night either for the thought of going back to work on the Monday.

Ugh i hate the sunday depression, it makes me down and time goes too quick. I'd have a vino but ill feel rough in the morning.

I hate my job too, customer service based and every single phone call I get is a whinger or a screamer. Time to get a new job xx

Last Sunday before payday, less than £20 in the bank, an absolute bitch of a week (rushing around preparing for GDPR - I work in a compliance based role).

Awful, awful. Worst Sunday evening ever.

I do but I also have a 'let's just get on with it' feeling because I have 3 weeks left before maternity and I want them gone!

I find it helps to do the following;

  1. If you are going to have a big meal (roast etc) do it in the middle of the day so washing up isn't hanging round at night.
  2. Get kids to have baths / wash hair on Sat pm, so one less 'chore' for Sunday nights.
  3. Pack bags, or even just get keys/wallet/phone in one place
  4. Get clothes ready before bed

that way, Sunday evening can be relaxing, rather than flat out chores prior to a late bed (for the adults).

My other golden rule these days is not to watch any news, or reality telly. Instead, I watch something on catchup.

I get plenty of news elsewhere anyway, so don't need it last thing at night.

Not anymore, but I remember the sinking feeling of dread on a Sunday evening when I was still at school...
You're going to have to find a way to distract yourself and make the most of your weekend time. Don't let anxiety about Monday rob you of part of Sunday.

Sadly nope. I’ve worked 7 days this week and have 4 more before I get a day off. So they’ve all rolled into one Shock

Oh I love Sunday evening's because it's all so peaceful. I make an effort Sunday morning first thing to get everything organised, clean and ready so that Sunday at 6pm I can throw the DCs in their baths/showers and we can have supper and a game or stories before an early night.

It's different for us because DS1's ASD means we have to have a routine, he has to have early nights to start his week 'well' and I have to be in full control rather than flapping around shouting "you didn't mention you had homework" at 9pm. 12 years of that and I'm a pro at Sundays.

Being organised isn't everyone's idea of 'yay' but it helps.

In the past I would of agreed with you but now I am alone ( DH died last october ) I hate weekends , esp when the weather is so nice .
We would of been having a BBQ with a bottle of wine and some music playing instead I am sat alone in the house felling sorry for myself .

I agree I hate the Sunday night dread. It is easier than an October Sunday. I really struggle in the winter until it gets to Christmas.

Today isn’t too bad as I have a week off soon.
