Crossroads. Lanes A and B are on minor roads, coming onto a 40mph limit road with two lanes both ways (see Lane 1 and Lane 2). The cross roads are traffic light controlled. Both minor roads get green lights at the same time. There are no filter arrows.
You are in Lane A. You want to turn right onto the main road. There are cars in Lane B also signalling to turn down this road (left turn for B).
The lights turn green. You:
- Pull out into the junction, wait until there are no cars approaching in Lane B, and make your turn. You can go into Lanes 1 or 2.
- Turn right at the same time as cars in Lane B are turning left. Assume all cars in Lane B will turn into Lane 1, therefore you can turn into Lane 2.
Further information: there is a petrol station about 200m up the road with Lanes 1 and 2, you need to be in Lane 2 to access this. However I think this shouldn't change what I think is the correct answer .
