It's really affecting me as I am exhausted all day but I can't stop! Anyone know?

Poppiesway1 Sat 14-Oct-17 05:54:31

Me too..
stress?
I think I’m overheating!
Would love a whole nights sleep though!

Vitamin D deficiency kept bumping me out of sleep...could that be a factor?
Stress, or the fact it’s now a bit of a habit for you, could be others.

It's horrible as I am exhausted. But can't sleep sad

Me too. Think it may be stress, thinking about work, family. Also menopause, get too hot so that wakes me up and then the brain starts thinking and I'm awake.

The hot water coming on does it for me. When I'm up I don't notice it, but it seems to stir me anyway.

Depression can cause early waking.
In my case it's the 15 month old...

OyyVeyy Sat 14-Oct-17 06:07:36

My youngest wakes me up. He's snoring his head off in my bed next to me now. Been awake an hour 😕

Kids are a nightmare for it, aren't they? smile

MortalEnemy Sat 14-Oct-17 06:18:13

Oh god, me too for the last couple of months! No waking child, no hot water pipes, no menopause, no ambient noise, and no spike in stress -- and I'm not depressed. Maybe I should investigate Vit D...?

What time did you go to sleep? Maybe go to sleep later and you will wake up later.

LittleBird74 Sat 14-Oct-17 06:31:09

I've just started waking up at 5 too angry
No idea why!

It’s so horrible. Sometimes I try to get back to sleep but it’s so frustrating. Other times I get up and read or watched tv I binge watched The Good Place on Netflix one Sunday am

I’ve tried one form of HRT and it made no difference - I’m going to the well woman clinic at my gp to see if there are any other types which might suit me.

heron98 Sat 14-Oct-17 06:42:57

me too. But I've always been an early riser and quite enjoy it. I just get up and go for a jog or read and make the most of the extra day. I find I only get tired if I stop!

winterinmadeira Sat 14-Oct-17 06:45:51

Another here. 5.10am every bloody morning. My eyes are getting blacker and blacker by the day. I've tried going to bed later but no, I still wake early. It's really frustrating and is making me tired and grumpy.

EvilDoctorBallerinaVampireDuck Sat 14-Oct-17 06:48:03

I wake up at 3 or 4. 😢😴 My aunt tells me it's an age thing.

I wake early most days, between 5 and 6. I think that it is years of little children waking me up! I have worked out though that most nights I am asleep by 10/ 10.30 so I get 6-7 hrs most nights. Now I either chill out or I get some work done. I am very lucky as most of my work is at home and to my own schedule so if I fancy a quick sleep after lunch then I can do. I do feel better now I have accepted that this is my natural timetable. I am turning into my mother!!

Bohemond Sat 14-Oct-17 06:55:22

Me too - typically at 5.30. I am 45. I put the start of it down to stress last year and the fact that working from home means I can get up and work off some of my endless to do list. I am not stressed now but it is still happening. I think it has now become a habit that is impossible to reset. I am at least able to make productive use of the time.

Spadequeen Sat 14-Oct-17 06:56:16

I have this. It's been ever since my ddad died a few months ago. I'm physically and mentally exhausted, but I wake up every night at least once

Slartybartfast Sat 14-Oct-17 06:57:21

sad and me
i set my alarm but i dont know why i bother because i am awake 2 hours before!
i wonder if it will change when the clocks go back?

bimbobaggins Sat 14-Oct-17 06:59:40

Me too ! It's a viscous circle because I'm always knackered early evening so end up going to bed about half 9.
When people lovingly talk about long lies I feel if I even got to 7 am it would be a long lie

comingintomyown Sat 14-Oct-17 07:02:37

Me too it's so annoying but I've had phases like this before just hope it passes soon

KarmaNoMore Sat 14-Oct-17 07:09:58

Same here. Wake up at 5 even if I go to bed at 12. If I go to bed at 10, I am up at 3.

I think it is an age thing. I was always a night person/very late riser, yet I'm now unable to sleep a full night.

I read an article by the BBC saying that sleeping through the night is a recent things as in years gone by, mostly in past centuries, people used to wake up, have snack and even go to talk to the neighbour's be fore going back to bed.

I'm not talking to the neighbour's in the early hours, but getting out of bed, do something a bit productive for half an hour to an hour, certainly helps. I start feeling sleepy within an hour and can manage an extra 2 hrs after then.

KarmaNoMore Sat 14-Oct-17 07:10:22

..an extra 2 hrs of sleep, I meant to say.

KarmaNoMore Sat 14-Oct-17 07:11:27

Neighbour's? Damn the autocorrect! Neighbours
