Planned a nice lie in this morning. Went to a friends for a few drinks last night and at half 6 this morning, a little tweeting twat outside my window decides to start twittering it's twatty little head off. I've been up for ages now, and it's still merrily tweeting away without a care in the world. The little fucker.

Aibu to want to go outside and ring it's scrawny little neck?

I don't mind nice little tweets and singing but we've got a really noisy screeches waking my 5 year old up at 5.30 am every day. Why can't they have a lie in? GrinHmm

Sorry but I love it. My house is surrounded by ancient woodland.
I do my weekly shop on a Sunday morning, back home by 9am.

:o "little tweeting twat"

I like the sound of it but sometimes when camping I have thought "Oh STFU".

I don't generally mind birdsong but I have a bird outside my house that makes the same droning tone for hours on end. I was working from home the other day cos I really needed to concentrate on a report I was writing. 8 fucking hours that little shit went on.

I love it, nothing better than being woken up with birdsong.

Little bastards were all squawking their heads off at 530 this morning. Deadly bloody silence out there now it's 800. Little shits do it deliberately. And the cat's no bloody help, he just lays there ignoring it.

I beg to differ.

How about a coffee and a bacon butty.

Ours isn't westray all our 24 hour tesco, asda etc, shut on a Saturday at 10pm and open on Sunday at 10am.

Always wondered why they were classed as 24hr, when the blatantly aren't.

donald, I guess you live in England. Not all of the UK have Sunday trading restrictions.

It's annoying when you're camping (as I found out this week when DC were awoken at 4.30).

I'm in the countryside at the moment and loving the dawn chorus. I'm an early riser anyway tbf.

There's even a rooster nearby. Although actually despite him cockadoodle dooing like Billy all afternoon I haven't heard him this morning.

Sheep - now they're noisy wee Fuckers.

I thought you meant the book and came to agree heartily.

Quite like actual bird-song though.

I live 18 minutes from the heart of the capital. I have owls and deer in my garden.
Not that deer are noisy!!

I'd rather be woken by birdsong than the bin lorry.

Gotta agree. Also have a bloody bird who pecks at my window early mornings.

I'm so jealous, I'm trying to teach my dc birds and their calls at the moment but no garden - can you put a feeder outside the window to distract them, like toddlers?

It doesn''t get fully dark here in Scotland until really late and dawn begins to break at around 3am. Bird song at that time in the morning is a pain!

I love bird song but during that hot spell the other day I roused at about 4am and the local blackbird then kept me awake for the next hour...even when I closed the window!

The little feathery cunts (Funts) who were tweeting at half four when I was camping: Bastards. Same goes for the owl who kept going through the night.

You can buy bird feeders which stick on the outside of your window if they would be any help? No need for a garden :)
