Help! Need to be at a wedding in 3 hours and my dress doesn't fit!

Help me I'm panicking. DH and I are going to his cousin's wedding it kicks off at two we need to leave at one absolute latest. I am getting ready and put on a lovely lace boy con dress I bought online two months ago- CANT GET THE ZIP UP!

I have been panicking going through my other dresses and don't have any suitable ones (sell my nice clothes on eBay). I live in London and am 20 mins from Oxford street so going there now but am totally flustered I need to dash in somewhere and then out again to get home and get dressed then set off- so I will have about 20 mins to shop.

Can anyone help and suggest shops or better still specific dresses for me- size 10 (now obviously a 12!) nothing too short preferably with some kind of sleeve!

You don't have time to browse. Just go to the shops where you usually get things you like , grab and assistant and tell them what you want.

Remember you need something that will work with the shoes, bag, jacket etc you already have.

It's impossible to advise you more without knowing your shape, style, colours, age, budget etc. And that's time you could more usefully spend shopping .

I would head straight for John Lewis or frasers-then you have a selection of brands in the one place.

Not sure if this link will work on my phone but I was going to buy this from Debenhams for a wedding:

http://m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod1070111000158607+018026988-1

(It's the Coast Rafaella midi dress if it doesn't work)

I didn't in the end because I went for a maxi dress. They have a similar style in peachy colours too.

Depending on your budget I'd be heading straight for Johnny Lou Lou, Selfrdges or Debenhams as you'll have a lot of choice under one roof. Sounds like your criteria fits Hobbs, LK Bennett Whistles type shops. Good luck!

Could you wear a skirt and top combo? I recently went to a wedding wearing the top tucked in so it looked like a dress.

Pick one shop and throw yourself at an assistant. Take your underwear/ shoes with you if you can.

this dress from oasis looks lovely for a wedding but would need a strapless bra.

What colours and shapes do you normally wear. What shoes and jacket do you have?

I'd try Debenhams on Oxford Street. John Lewis isn't a bad shout though.

Best of luck.

I have a cream blazer type jacket already and cream sling back heels. Have a few clutch bags so reckon I could make one of those work. The dress I had was royal blue but am open to most colours except purple (which I just personally dislike)

How do you feel about grey or pink or green.

You need an experienced sales assistant, tell them your needs and get them to bring you everything in a 10-12.

Just buy a set of higher waisted power panties by Spanx from john Lewis then you will fit in your old dress.

Get them to bring you some sling backs too so you have and idea of what you want.

You could call ahead and ask for the personal shopping service....

John Lewis and see if they have a personal shopper free to help? I can walk away with a whole new wardrobe in an hour so they surely can get you something!
