AIBU?

to have stayed in bed all day?

I'm writing this from bed. I'm single and childless and have had nothing pressing to do other than washing, which is now in the machine.

I've finished a book, read a LOT of MN, eaten lunch (chicken salad) all from bed today and it feels SO GOOD

I'm going to venture out shortly and purchase some Camembert for dinner. I may eat it in bed, have a bath and then come straight back to my cocoon.

More of a boast than an AIBU, really. But I've not done this for years (unless ill) and it's been an utterly perfect Sunday

I am actually a bit jealous as it sounds lovely. Although I love my dd to bits so have also had a lovely day with her just not as relaxing as yours. I'd love a day like yours once in a while!

Yep, there's a co op relatively close that's open until midnight. I'm often found there on a Sunday night foraging for cheese

I'm slightly hungover which has made bed much more pleasant than anywhere else today. Very, very attractive barman gave me two glasses of wine for free last night, it's his fault. Gave him my number and no text either. Bastard.

Not unreasonable at all!

I spent many a day like this, pre DD.

Having my overactive DTDs for the weekend (they're usually with their dad over weekends, but he's decided to take off somewhere for 3 weeks), that sounds like pretty much the perfect Sunday. I hope you enjoyed it Grin. Not at all jealous

Thanks! I may have to make it a regular thing. Not the Camembert, though. Diet starts again tomorrow etc etc

That sounds lovely!! Enjoy.

I had a bad start to the day. DC whining and. Dh away but he came home and took DC to the in laws. I went to aldi for flowers and ice cream for myself.

I watched two films - maid in Manhattan and far and away. I potted a few flowers in the garden in the ad breaks .

Now I am going to have a long bath and a fake tan session

Love my in laws but this is Bliss compared to listening to mil problems and woes.. You just don't need it.

I love my bed, I always go up early to watch telly and browse the 'net alone before Dh comes up, I like the solitude.

Your day sounds lovely , enjoy the cheeseSmile.

Nope! I got up at 7, did my work, did a food shop, went out to see friends and take my boyfriend to the station and was back home alone by 3. I've been in bed ever since and have no intention of changing that.

Sorry to all the jealous faces! If it makes you feel any better, my flat is a total tip as I really should have tidied today... so I'll be living in near squalor until next Saturday when I'll tidy it in anticipation for my mum, sister and gran coming for lunch. Somehow I can't see next weekend being as relaxing...

Me too re barman. He was beautiful; looked like a centaur (but with human legs). And very flirty. But you never know. I was rather proud of myself giving my number so I can hold onto that if he doesn't contact me

Sounds lovely! I stayed in bed most of yesterday but that was because I felt sick. You enjoy it!

You are LIVING THE DREAM op

I sent DH out with DS (1 year old, just started walking, needs constant attention ...) for a couple of hours earlier so I could relax. A whole day would be like winning the lottery!

This is just a stealth boast surely? Before I had kids, I had much better things to do than post on Mumsnet trying to show-off to a bunch of mums how wonderful my childless life was. But, as long as you're happy and feel fullfilled!

I was just thinking today how much I miss a bedbound sunday.

I love them. Haven't had one for years. Am weljel.

I have to make do with a few hours peace and quiet on a sunday night when dp goes up early and the dcs are in bed. Usually get 12 yo dd wittering away at me but call the midwife has finished and am hoping she doesn't fancy watching Vera and stays upstairs tonight.

gammaraystar that's not necessary is it? It's quite clearly a light hearted thread.

And there are lots of people on MN who aren't parents.

Although how does someone look like a centaur without the horse legs? Isn't that the defining centauryness?

Or maybe, maybe he turns into full on centaur after midnight and that's why he hasn't texted yet. He's busy doing centaur stuff.

JamesDelaneysHat · 19/03/2017 18:54

A barman that looked like a centaur?! Like the ones in Harry Potter. Ew! Wink
