AIBU?

To ask about this contract Steph Davis has asked Jeremy McConnell to sign?

I hope this doesn't start a bun fight - I know it's utter trash tv / 'celebrity' nonsense but I keep seeing things pop up about this contract she's presented to him to sign as part of the dna test she's asked for.

AIBU to be really nosey about what's in this contract? Philip Scofield said it was unreasonable and he obviously knows everything...

What could it possibly be?

Plus (and obviously I don't understand contract law enough to get this point) I don't understand why they can't discuss it if he's not intending to sign it? Surely he could divulge what's so unreasonable about it in this case?

I suspect they can't talk about it die to being in regard to a child? And I imagine it's probably got stuff in there about how much involvement he can / can't have if he is the father. But could be way off base.

More likely he has to agree not to do a spread in hello mag..

She's put a statement up on twitter. Sounds like it is a confidentiality agreement.

Glad you started this, I've been wondering the same after seeing him on TM.

Maybe it's a contract to say if the baby is his then he isn't allowed to do any magazine shoots or articles with him.

The contract states he's not allowed to talk about the contract but the basis is that he can have an DNA test but isn't prohibited to discuss the outcome of the test even if he is the father basically he isn't to speak about his child to the media whatsoever it's clearly a form of control. No one should be silenced in regards to there child he should be able to enjoy an open and fulfilling relationship which this contract is aiming to prevent. She's using the child as a weapon to punish him plus I think there's some doubt so she doesn't want to be humiliated.

I don't know much about them except from my Sat morning Heat magazine habit but I thought it was a bit unfair as he goes on national tv and is giving interviews and has publicly slated her on Twitter but says he wanted everything to remain private but because she announced she was pregnant publicly, she started all this Hmm

It's rare for phil to say something is unreasonable in terms of a contract and he wouldn't sign it.

I didn't know about any of this? I thought he was the Dad and that was it, even if they weren't together?

Who is saying he is not the dad, him or her?

YANBU I'm also desperately curious. I also don't understand why she won't do a DNA? Is that the case or has she done one? Obv it's insulting as fuck that he asked her to but...

Report
stitchglitched · 10/02/2017 10:58

She says she has offered to do the DNA via solicitors. He has been pretty vile about her throughout the pregnancy.

SugarLoveHeart · 10/02/2017 11:00

I don't think it's insulting at all... She was with more than one bloke at the time!

Report
augustbody · 10/02/2017 11:07

Has she said she was with more than one bloke, or is that what he thinks? It's all very Jezza isn't it?

Call me suspicious but I've a feeling all this 'contract' nonsense is just that, nonsense, just another way to get them both on TV and in the press, keep eeking out this bizarre story as long as possible to earn them some money/interest.

Don't know about the contract but he's a total liar. I'm too old for all their malarky but even I know he flat out denied the baby was his during the pregnancy and is now backtracking.

I feel sorry for the poor baby if it turns out he has a total waster for a dad

She has completely pimped out her pregnancy since the beginning and that little baby has already done his first photo shoot so I can't believe she is asking him not to discuss or go to the media in regards to the child. They have both been awful about each other, I don't think any one of them can now take the moral high ground. If Phillip S says the contract is totally unreasonable then I'm going to take his word for it.

(I'm not judging her btw, if she wants to live her life like that fair enough, whatever pays the bills, but don't be a hypocrite about it).

She's protecting her revenue stream - if Jeremy is also doing shoots with the baby that splits the money between two. It's a shame she's gone down the reality TV route because she was very talented and could have gone into musicals. Also "saintly single mum" will get old very quickly, she'll have to get on the televised-partying-and-shagging circuit. It's a tough way to earn a crust IMO.

I remember when they fell in love on CBB, it was mesmerising and truly genuine :( Such a shame this is how it worked out.

She was a crap actress on holkyoaks!

She is either being completely manipulated by her agent or is just too obsessed with plastering every little detail of her life on social media.

I feel very sorry for the child. With parents like this he has little chance of a normal innocent childhood. He will be pimped out in trashy magazines at every opportunity and his whole life even before birth is displayed online. The poor baby has no privacy and will grow up reading what a car crash his parents are.

I feel sorry for the child in all this.

I don't see why he needed to go on this morning about it? The dna test could have been done in private surely????

oh this has been on my mind too

he has behaved disgracefully towards her IMO, not one thing he has done has shown any kindness or regard

They are both reality twats yes, but he has been so fucking callous

I hope she has a good support network

They are as bad as each other. The DNA test should have been done and dusted straight awaymy it is like they have forgotten it is a baby not an object.

These two make me sick. Both of them.

Report
Finola1step · 10/02/2017 12:22

Both awful in IMO.

But, Phil did make it very clear that he wouldn't sign such a contract. That the legal team for This Morning had seen it and thought it unreasonable. Holly said that signing it would have long term implications.

So we can draw some possible conclusions from that. Give up parental rights maybe? No contact? Or a protection of her revenue stream as posted up thread.

Whichever, poor baby.
