I'm watching A Knight's Tale and I've always thought that he picked the wrong girl and the blacksmith was a much better catch!

I agree. Love that film.

theITgirl Thu 10-Nov-16 21:47:16

Totally agree. Love the blacksmith.

I always thought that the Nike symbol on the armour was hilarious, then I found out she was the godess of victory!

I'm watching that too smile and yes to the blacksmith. But that's men for you
They never see what's right infront of them!

But she wasn't interested in him ... wasn't the point was she was good in her field despite her disadvantage (being female) and he was good in his (being of peasant birth). hmm They both got some recognition for being good at something. make her the love interest and you might lose that.

I love that she's a good smith and doesn't need to decorate some guys arm.

The rich woman had nothing about her other than being pretty and initially not interested in him.

Love that film, I like the naked guy

Littlecaf Thu 10-Nov-16 22:16:36

Rainydayspending I think you're reading too much into it. It's based in the olden days so therefore they were all horny a la GOT so should have got it on immediately. Poor ending.

SaucyJack Thu 10-Nov-16 22:17:35

I thought this was gonna be a bitvhy thread about the Olsen twins.

Trills Thu 10-Nov-16 22:20:32

Paul Bettany as Naked Chaucer!!!

MrsArthurShappey Thu 10-Nov-16 22:20:57

The rich one is a terrible actress who can't hide her American accent and they put her in ridiculous clothes and hair styles. I love the film but she just jars in every scene she's in.

diddl Thu 10-Nov-16 22:21:20

Absolutely agree.

Rufus Sewell<swoons>

We're watching this now. Lovely Heath Ledger. sad Love Paul Bettany though.

Rainydayspending Thu 10-Nov-16 22:26:46

Based on the olden days grin brilliant

Chippednailvarnishing Thu 10-Nov-16 22:31:48

Geoff Chaucer was a great character.

Rainy the blacksmith was the better love interest because she was his equal. She wasn't there for decorative purposes,.

PhilODox Thu 10-Nov-16 22:33:58

Ooh, James Purefoy looks gorgeous in this!

JenLindleyShitMom Thu 10-Nov-16 22:37:46

I always remember thinking how stupid he was not to see what was infront of him. Glad to see I wasn't alone!

blankpieceofpaper Thu 10-Nov-16 22:37:47

The extended edition is worth it!

Paul Bettany! "My lords, my ladies ... and everybody else here not sitting on a cushion!"

thatstoast Thu 10-Nov-16 22:38:01

I thought the blacksmith got together with the comedy chubby guy?

Rainydayspending Thu 10-Nov-16 22:41:04

The Baratheon wink. Obviously it was all just a romance.

Trills Thu 10-Nov-16 22:43:43

Yes, everybody else not sitting on a cushion!

I had it in my head that the Black Prince was the same guy who was Lord M in Victoria, but apparently not.

Trills Thu 10-Nov-16 22:45:09

Ah. it's because he was the BADDIE and I need to see this film again.

GazingAtStars Thu 10-Nov-16 22:47:33

I love this film! If you haven't seen Paul bettanys speech when ulric is in the stocks...I loved him even more and so much better than the shite they actually put in the film. here you're welcome!
