I think Vax offer these 'bargains' / advertorials widely, MSE has similar offers for Vax from time to time.

I've been looking to get a cordless vacuum. Not done any research yet - does anyone have an opinion on the dyson vs the vax?

Report
NightNightBadger19962 · 27/10/2016 18:58

Well it's still a bit cheaper than on Amazon, and I need one, so thanks for the heads up.

YABU - our vax was rubbish! Any chance of a code for Dyson or Henry Hoovers please? hopeful face

Our Vax was hopeless too Fenella we had the pet one. First time ever I replaced a Vacuum cleaner before it broke down but I did that one after spending a fortune on replacement filters. Dyson all the way here.

As an American who's not up on your tea-fueled lingo, I expected this to be a vaccination thread. Was pleasantly surprised to discover it was for Hoovers.

Hello all

We've just updated the OP to show Amazon prices as well as RRP - hope useful!

Missymoo I think perhaps that's a confusion - the pet vacuum offer is listed at £99.99. Shout if I've got the wrong end of the stick though?

Thanks

Hi has anyone used either of the 2 steamers on the list?
Mines took the knock, bloody awful thing gave up today and there was more steam coming off me than there was the so called steamer 😏
So it's binned & then this post came up 'which I thought could be a sign', 🙏
So any advise on which of those 2 for sale would be the winner and if not which ones are recommended?
Thank you ladies/gents

Hoping the carpet washer is good- the reviews say it is. Our carpet looks horrible and as the boiler has just broken I won't be replacing it anytime soon. I'll be spending Saturday washing the carpet. Smile

Thanks MNHQ!

Been trying to get a VAX steamer via Achica for months but orders keep getting cancelled due to 'supplier issues' so am well pleased with this - thank you!
Sadly can't wait to steam mop my hard floors finally!

I had a vax multi floor cleaner when mse did the codes/flash sale thing and it was the worst item I have ever bought and a complete and utter waste of money the vacuum cleaner function barely picked anything up and the wet cleaning get function essentially just dribbled the overpriced cleaning liquid out.

I contacted customer services and was completely brushed off.

Went back to mop and normal hoover. (Shark vacuum which is excellent )

Oh these Vax offers turn up periodically on MN I think - they are v good at their marketing. I got sucked in last time. Sadly it was the only sucking in that Vax managed to do - honestly the most useless vacuum I have ever had, sad to say.

We recently bought the pet Vax to replace our 3rd Dyson. Much better cleaner - carpet pile is rejuvenated & it's got a thinner head so gets under furniture more easily. Plus a longer cable so less changing socket points.

Really pleased with it - just wish I'd got it at this price!!

So cordless vax or cordless dyson..... (Or other cordless recommendations) .... Anyone?

So far I'm reading that vax is a bit crap. I've got a Henry and I'm sick of lugging the stupid heavy thing around and bashing my furniture. I've got hardwood floors with rugs and some carpeted rooms upstairs. Is the dyson worth the money or is this offer on vax worth a punt?

The cordless dyson is awesome, my husband wanted one for ages but I refused as I couldn't warrant the money. When I was pregnant I really struggled with our old heavy hoover, I had a play with my neighbours cordless dyson and started to come round to the idea, when they came on offer and my dad said he'd pay half for my birthday I gave in and I do love it. The little head is handy for stairs & sofas (probably good for the car too but I haven't bothered to find out yet), the main heads are great on carpets & rugs and the hard floor one does everywhere else. I find it really quick and easy to grab for a quick mess as well as general cleaning. I hate housework and it's rare for me to enthuse about any cleaning product tbh. I did try a vax and was not impressed, my sister had one of theirs and said it was awful. The Shark cordless are ok but they don't have half the suction power of the dyson.

I'd keep Henry for heavy jobs though, he's brill for vaccing up rubble from building jobs/ woodwork etc.

I've got a cordless Dyson and a cordless Bosch Athlet and the Bosch is a far superior machine , my mum had a cordless Vax and was less than impressed . I have got a Vax carpet cleaner though and that is good .
