AIBU?

Drunken husband

DH out tonight drinking with two friends. Doesn't go out loads, all fine. Home about 11 not in too bad a state, off he goes to bed.

I have just discovered him pissing in our DS's bedroom, all over him train set on the floor. Thrown things away, had to scrub the floor, get the steam cleaner out etc etc. All the while he's hovering around muttering apologies and saying 'leave it' but he's too pissed to do anything about it.

I am RAGING. AIBU to be so annoyed? Angry

Does he usually get that drunk?

If it's a one off, he now knows how much he can drink, without being in this state.

You've got a right to be annoyed, but how long you should be carrying it on for, is upto you.

I think prolonged animosity serves no purpose.

I would be too. That's disgusting. I'd make him clean it up when sober actually.

It is a one off, yes. He used to do this in the odd occasion years ago but not since we had DC.

He will definitely be cleaning the floor again tomorrow and owes DS some new trains!

I would be absolutely furious.

He would be up at the crack of dawn the next day scrubbing and shampooing the carpet and I would be VERY hard to satisfy about when I thought it a good enough job. I'd likely keep him at it most of the day.

In fact, I have doubts about whether or not I could ever see him in a reasonable light again without feeling revulsion. Pissing in his child's room all over the toys is utterly abhorrent behaviour that I could never forget.

It's not on at all - but not sure why the trains needed to be thrown away?

Filthy bugger. I wouldn't be able to look him in the eye.

He must have been off his face to mistake your DS's room for the toilet.

As much as I can understand your fury, it wasn't intentional, just remember that if you're going to make him suffer.

Could you not just give the trains a good scrub and bleach them?

Not on though and he'd know all about it in the morning

apple1992 · 17/07/2016 08:35

Was he sleep walking? Very gross but I doubt he did it on purpose

TheVeryHungryPreggo · 17/07/2016 08:37

Were they battery operated trains? I'd dunk everything else in the bath with some Milton tbh, helps a lot!

Report
JolieColombe · 17/07/2016 11:58

Why should the OP scrub them with bleach, or sterilise them, or do anything other than remove them from her DS's room with gloves on? Her 'D'H should be doing any and all cleaning that needs doing, the filthy bastard.

This is a reasonably well known thing - my DH did it about 9 years ago, but in the corner of or bedroom after a night out while we were at uni. I woke up with the sound and actually stood there holding a plastic box to catch it Blush he was sleep walking and genuinely thought he was in the loo.
Fair enough that's pretty awful for your DS but I think there is some overreaction going on from PP. If my DH did it now I'd be angry, but it's a forgivable offence.

Save your rage for of he ever intentionally does something awful perhaps?

My DP does this too after a few beers. He doesn't even need to drink that much for it to happen and has no recollection of it the next day.

It's annoying but not intentional.

Ew! Pity you didn't video it and send it to his family and friends! What a grub!!!

My ex peed in the airing cupboard once, all over the bedding and towels. 😡

My ex peed the bed once (whilst i was lying beside him) i jumped up with a fright and he tried to blame it on me because i was pregnant, got showered then left him lying in pee covered sheets because he was to drunk to even realise what was going on.

God, my ex used to confuse everywhere except the toilet for the toilet. Pissed all over a dress I was borrowing from my sister for a wedding and then got into bed with her by accident. seriously though if it's a one off I'd be pissed off but let it go after an apology.

Oh, WHAT? Come ON. I spend half my time being baffled by the utter manbabies described on here, but a man that pisses all over the house? We don't permit that behaviour FROM DOGS.

Christ on a cracker, people.

I always find it odd that the men who do this never piss all over their own stuff.

Report
Niggit · 17/07/2016 15:31

If he's genuinely embarrassed and sorry once he sobers up, I wouldn't stay angry for too long, but definitely make him clean up, preferably while he's hung over. My DH drank too much at his parents' once, felt sick on the way home, and instead of asking me to pull over just wound the window down, hung his head out and puked all along the side of the car. Our two kids were in the back, too - "Mummy, it's all over my window..." Once we got home and I'd decanted him into the bathroom I chucked a bucket of water over the car so it didn't etch the paintwork, and made him clean it properly the next morning. Including picking dried vomit out of the doorhandles and locks.

An ex of mine did this once, all over the radiator in our bedroom. I'm with the "be mad and make him clean it up but it's quite likely he simply didn't know where he was" crowd.

I also heard of a friend of a friend (which means it's probably an urban myth...) who stayed at his in laws house, got too drunk, and then - with slowly dawning whitefaced realisation - had to face the MiL asking whether anyone had let a dog in the house overnight because she'd had to clean a massive turd from the bath...

Very drunk boyfriend at uni peed in my underwear drawer once.

I do not get this phenomenon. I have never once heard of a woman doing this.

OP I hope you are making today quite uncomfortable for him.

Yeah, I've never heard of a woman getting drunk and squatting a stream of piss out in the corner of the bedroom. Heard about plenty of (dirty fuckers) blokes though Hmm

My dad is a fucker for it.

He has pissed in my mums hairdryer, her wardrobe, the curtains and even on her pillow inches from her mouth Envy

I once woke up as a kid to find a pair of feet in my face. He had climbed into bed with me.

I wasn't impressed
