Just that...I always wonder!

Constantly. I very much keep myself to myself and am a bit weird around people. I keep thinking the aloof school mums threads could be about me.

Yes, I have a long running disagreement with my sil. I keep thinking she'll detail it all on here and ask who is bu! Clearly her...

No, but having seen threads started by people talking about fellow bus/train passengers, I admit it makes me a tad nervous when I spot someone fervently tapping away on their phone Grin

This happened to me. It was about a text conversation I was having. I was scrolling through mumsnet in between texting, only to find our conversation on here in almost real time. Luckily it wasn't horrible and everyone said that SWBU. Later she texted me one of the responses suggested by a pp. I haven't told her I know....

Ooh nap do tell us more! I think I'd be annoyed if I found one about me but also find it hilarious... I wouldn't be able to stop myself commenting in a cryptic way to freak the op out as well. *sits and waits patiently for my sister to post something

I actually have been the subject of an aibu post before. I even posted to tell people they weren't getting the full story.

This might turn out to be a cracking thread!

I saw one about a neighbour chopping trees down and my stomach flipped 'shit it's us' it wasn't.

I doubt it, I'm not that interesting Grin

I recognized one about a party I was at (not about me though). I found it really bizarre; the person who wrote it seemed so normal in real life and then, in her post, she came across as a bit unhinged.

Yes! I know without a doubt that it was about me. A friend posted about how she suspected me of trying to sleep with her DP when we were in the same city and she was elsewhere. I actually found it quite hurtful, because it was around the anniversary of my own DP's death, and the very last thing on my mind was trying to seduce anyone else's. Also, I'm gay and her DP is a man, so... Ridiculous all round.

cao

That's awful!

I hope your never in that position again. You must have been quite devestated at the lack of trust and actually the fact that obviously your "friend" didn't consider that she knows you better than that and you would never do that.

Nope, I don't think I would ever be.

I sometimes open threads to check they aren't about me Grin

No, I'm never unreasonable Wink

Joking aside, I'm eternally paranoid so I'm constantly clicking thread titles worried they might be me. Haven't had one yet.

I have been mentioned in posts. Only realised once I'd been 'outed' . Apparently I'm a narc.

I live in fear, but all the people I fall out with are more 'hun' than MN, so I think I'm safe Wink

If I was, I'd be so tempted to reply in such as way as to make the OP think it might be me, drop in some subtle clues that only the person would know etc.

I recall the days when you only had to worry about the neighbours gossiping about you. Now, in a matter of hours your life could be exposed in a viral basis - not a good thing for the human mind!

I've been the subject of a post in chat, thankfully long gone. It was not nice and I thought she was my friend at the time. I still see her around and keep out of her way, as she very obviously doesn't like me!

I've recently had a massive falling out with a crazy school mum, I know she's on here so I keep expecting her to post about me.

I wish she would because she's nuts and I'd like to see her flamed.

Not me but I read a thread about a friend moaning about another friend word for word the way she'd told me. Still think she WBU Grin

I did a few months back see a thread started that I was fairly sure I recognised the situation. She had posted about how she had been left out of an event at work (I am being as vague as I can!)

The replies were unanimously 'YANBU', what a group of bitches etc and there was a lot of sympathy for the OP.

I did not see much point in posting and asking why she had left out the fact she was a bully, or the fact she would make upsetting comments to the slimmer women in the office (men prefer a bit of meat, real women have curves etc). It would just have descended into a bun fight.

It did however make me wonder about the other threads where someone has been excluded, and wonder how one-sided the posts are

Up to now I haven't featured in a thread, but I have to admit (as PPs mention) to a sinking feeling when I read the titles - unreasonable mother/batshit sister/mad woman in school playground/nutty neighbour - heart lurches, open the thread in trepidation, sigh of relief!!
