Somehow I find it even more irritating because he uses a capital H. Not sure I'm cut out for online dating...!!

I'd reject too.

YABU for even having to ask and only considering to potentially reject him. If he is this annoying before you have even met him, imagine how much worse it could/will get!

I don't know what's worse, that or a dick pic.

I went out on a date once with a man who called me 'Chuckles' Confused.

There wasn't a second date.

Is it capitalised because his phone does it automatically?
iPhones autocorrect it, presumably because they think anybody typing it would be talking about Attila etc.
I wouldn't like being called it either though.
I know someone who has lots of Internet dating lady friends and he makes a point of calling them honey in pretty much every sentence. Confused

I almost rejected a guy because of his smiley face usage on emails. This one :o

Eugh, it still makes me cringe. 'Hun' is worse though I think. I married :o guy though, so I have to think that for my sanity.

YANBU. When I was on the online dating scene, I used to get called hun, babe and...princess.

It used to immediately put me off, because I found it a bit too patronising. Fair enough if you've been with someone for a while, and you grow to use affectionate nicknames, that's nice, but not when you've barely clapped eyes on each other.

Ugh, I dropped one for calling me luscious. It made me feel ill. He was really offended when I dared to ask him to stop.

Eurgh YANBU. I find it really patronising.

My ex calls me hun when I'm forced to speak to him (although he never did when we were together) and I'm convinced he does it because he knows it drives me crazy!

oh big hugs to you Hun. You're doing marvellously. Well done. Love you

sorry, what was the question?!

Vomit - clearly CBA to remember your name, let alone anything else

YABU, I'd have drop kicked the twat already into next week, if he used that word with me.

Flacidunicorn · 16/06/2016 17:44

Have you told him not too?
"Urgh, don't call me Hun, it mkes me want to become violent..."

If he then stops, great, of he carries on, stab him in the ball sack with a compass.

I met my current dh on an online dating site and he calls me Hun and I do him (note iPhone just capitalised it) he also called me sweetie, used to text me as soon as he woke up 'morning sweetie' so 5 years married and 3 kids later I wouldn't mind it being used a bit more often. If you're not looking for a sensitive living soul move on but maybe review your profile to see why you has attracted such a person x

My ex husband calls me hun and uses emoji's as punctuation.

NewRoad - I can't believe anyone can be that sickly sweet and think it ok. You call each other 'hun' and you think that's just dandy?

And as for the patronising inference that the OP is somehow to blame for attracting such a dick-brained fuckwit - words fail me.
