seen his interview with William today, god hes awful

VagueIdeas Wed 20-Apr-16 22:13:22

I can't look at him without thinking of what Prince Charles once said about him. "Odious little man", or something? Imagine being the BBC's Royal correspondent and knowing that's what they think of you grin

EastMidsMummy Wed 20-Apr-16 22:13:47

Exactly HOW wonderful is the Queen, Prince William?

CaptainCrunch Wed 20-Apr-16 22:14:02

I can't forget the fact Charles was overhead calling him an "awful man" whom he couldn't stand. His self respect must be non existent if he can overlook that and continue to suck up to them.

SirChenjin Wed 20-Apr-16 22:14:46

Hasn't he just shown Wullie to be the lazy sod he is?

DioneTheDiabolist Wed 20-Apr-16 22:16:54

Are you prince charles OP?

SwedishEdith Wed 20-Apr-16 22:18:31

And did he not ask what does Kate do? (Only half-listening).

SwedishEdith Wed 20-Apr-16 22:20:43

William looked like a giant next to him. Speaks exactly like his mum.

HopeClearwater Wed 20-Apr-16 22:21:06

Why did Nicholas Witchell end up with that crappy royal correspondent job anyway? Had he done something to get up someone's nose at the BBC?

Catmuffin Wed 20-Apr-16 22:22:01

I can never understand how he continued dealing with the royals after the odious comment. Wouldn't he have been better off changing his role?

VertigoNun Wed 20-Apr-16 22:22:48

It all looked like a careful PR exercise.

Geordiegirl79 Wed 20-Apr-16 22:24:23

A ha ha ha ha! We have just been commenting on this. Not sure I could stay in that job after what happened with Charles and the mic. No self respect, clearly!

squoosh Wed 20-Apr-16 22:24:39

He's a bit of a Uriah Heep character. And really how much is there to say about the royal family that your whole career is dedicated to reporting on them?

Being the BBC's tiddlywinks correspondent would be more riveting.

AngieBolen Wed 20-Apr-16 22:26:33

I have met Nicholas NW on a few occasions, and he was always charming and pleasent. <<shrugs>>

My SIL used to fancy him, and may still do, as far as I know. Now, IMO, she was being unreasonable.

LadyIncuntliaButtock Wed 20-Apr-16 22:26:35

His fawning sophistry in every story (or non-story) to do with those fucking leeches the royal family really gets on my tits. If you look up shitcunt in any reputable dictionary, you will find Nick's photo. He is basically a mouthpiece regurgitating palace spin.

Anniegetyourgun Wed 20-Apr-16 22:27:45

William looked like a giant next to him. Speaks exactly like his mum.

I dunno, I don't remember Diana's voice being quite so deep. To be fair, though, I only heard a fragment of the interview on the radio, so he might have gone higher later on or something.

newname99 Wed 20-Apr-16 22:31:34

This was exactly my thought but he was so clearly trying not to upset William so had to ask about his work life balance in such a roundabout way.

I can't believe in these economically tough times William feels it's acceptable not to work but to devote time to his family (with his wife and teams of staff to support him). Its shows how privileged the royals are and the massive sense of entitlement that they have.

If the Royal job was so tough do we really think they would continue to do it? I don't see them willing to give up Royal status to live an upper middle class lifestyle.

I just wish the Royals would stop whining about how tough life is and just tell the truth - they are so fortunate and lucky to live such a comfortable life with very little real life responsibity.

SwedishEdith Wed 20-Apr-16 22:33:07

"I dunno, I don't remember Diana's voice being quite so deep" - same delivery, timing etc.

raisedbyguineapigs Wed 20-Apr-16 22:37:58

So do I. Royal duty gets wearing does it? Well boo hoo!

lu9months Wed 20-Apr-16 22:41:24

don't know, i had to turn the tv off, william was annoying me so much.

Itinerary Wed 20-Apr-16 22:46:44

I can't imagine someone asking the Queen similar questions at William's age.

BoffinMum Wed 20-Apr-16 22:52:18

I started to feel more republican than I have ever felt before, once he started banging on about relevance. FFS, the main function of the Monarchy is surely to keep permatan Tony Blair and the like from lording it over us as Presidents.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Wed 20-Apr-16 22:52:35

William was annoying.

Bringing the children up, making them good people.
Most people manage that and a full time job.

BennyTheBall Wed 20-Apr-16 22:53:24

He reminds me a bit of Mr Burns from The Simpsons.

No one will forget that Charles hates him; he should've moved to a different role with his dignity intact.

I can't stand all this royal fawning. All that news coverage today over frigging postage stamps. Ludicrous.
