AIBU to think its very rude to ask on a Facebook photo of the wedding on the brides page if she is the grooms ex or someone new?
DH doesn't see why this is a problem and is still mad at me 24 hours later for being insulted and embarrassed by it and deleting it.

Er, yes that's rude. Is your DH the guilty poster, or are you the bride? Either way YANBU!

LemonRedwood Sat 16-Apr-16 21:36:16

I'd find it a little strange rather than rude, I think!

HoppingForward Sat 16-Apr-16 21:36:46

Very rude

RudeElf Sat 16-Apr-16 21:36:53

Oh wow! Yes. Who would do that? Never mind being none of their business whether she was once his ex or not you dont ask them about it on her page under her wedding photo! So not ok!

BillSykesDog Sat 16-Apr-16 21:40:14

Oooh ouch. That's harsh. Were you involved in the break up or did you marry fairly fast? Sounds like a dog to me.

Treysanatomy Sat 16-Apr-16 21:40:55

YANBU, very rude! And deliberately rude and insulting too surely, unless you happen to look just like the ex?

Someone from my DH's work wrote "what, again? Lol" in a wedding card addressed to both of us. I binned it, wasn't putting that up on our mantelpiece!

Congratulations on getting married flowers

I wish I was the groom. At least then I wouldn't still feel embarrassed by it. I am unfortunately the bride. I look nothing like the ex either.

Trills Sat 16-Apr-16 21:43:44

So someone posted

"Is that Susan or someone new?"

on a wedding picture.

Is that what happened?

Can't they TELL?

fastdaytears Sat 16-Apr-16 21:43:48

Hmm unless you look exactly like the ex I fail to see how this could be an innocent mistake.

Is it someone with an agenda?

fastdaytears Sat 16-Apr-16 21:44:31

Sorry just read your update and you don't look alike.

Why would you feel embarrassed? You have nothing at all to be embarrassed about.

NZmonkey Sat 16-Apr-16 21:44:43

It was 3 years so sorta fast.
Treysanatomy I'd have binned that card too and thank you

RudeElf Sat 16-Apr-16 21:47:30

Who said it? Was it a jealous ex or something? Clearly someone he doesnt still talk to if they had to ask.

NZmonkey Sat 16-Apr-16 21:52:31

Yea an odd work friend of DHs. That only met ex once a long time ago. So not someone with an agenda.
Think im embarrassed now because I moved past being angry about it especially with DH being angry with me for being angry. That sounds stupidly messy. And embarrassed as my family/friends will be wondering what on earth is going on.

Iguessyourestuckwithme Sat 16-Apr-16 21:53:22

Did you share a first name?

pictish Sat 16-Apr-16 21:54:21

I think you took it a bit hard tbh. It was a daft remark...but that's all.

NZmonkey Sat 16-Apr-16 21:57:41

No first name sharing. That would be awkward. It was more a 'is this the girl you went out with when..... Who works at.....' Along those lines can't remember exactly as i deleted very fast.

CalleighDoodle Sat 16-Apr-16 21:59:41

Does he have mentionitus about his ex at all?

CalleighDoodle Sat 16-Apr-16 22:00:34

Nz with that extra info it sounds more like an innocent question and you have over reacted.

PaulAnkaTheDog Sat 16-Apr-16 22:02:19

Oh God, that's bad! Although I was at a wedding where they had someone go round everyone for video messages for the happy couple. They caught me after five one too many wines and I gave a gushing message for the groom and... his ex. To be fair, the groom was my mate, he'd been with his ex for six years (and both been greatly social!) and then married his wife after five months (not allowing anyone to meet her), it was confusing! It must have happened a bit because he assured me afterward that I wasn't the only one to mix up the names.

I still cringe horribly though...

MuddhaOfSuburbia Sat 16-Apr-16 22:03:48

oh, PAUL

...that's actually a bit funny

Ilovetorrentialrain Sat 16-Apr-16 22:04:46

Yes I was shocked at the rudeness until I read the latest update. It's still pretty ill advised, and yes I'd have deleted it too but I'd let it go. He's obviously not the brightest of sparks to think that comment is OK.

NinaSimoneful Sat 16-Apr-16 22:05:43

How can you delete someone else's comment?
Misses point

Ilovetorrentialrain Sat 16-Apr-16 22:05:49

'NZ' also I think it reflects badly on the guy who posted the comment but not at all on you.

BillSykesDog Sat 16-Apr-16 22:08:15

Yeah, from the lastest update it was rather tactless but not really worth getting upset about.
