Apologies if this is is/has been discussed elsewhere; I expected there to be a thread already but I can't find anything ...

LK is the BBC's political editor, but shows no sign of being fair, impartial or balanced in her reporting. She seems to have a passionate, unchecked loathing of Jeremy Corbyn/the Labour Party - an obsession almost - and is making the BBC News unwatchable for everyone in our house - even the kids have picked up on her twitching, sour face when she's reporting on anything Corbyn-related! Surely this revelation about her part in engineering for Stephen Doughty to resign live on Daily Politics crosses a line where the new isn't being reported it's being manipulated and spun for entertainment/propaganda and she is a delighted participant who is failing to report in the public interest?

I'm not familiar with her (I don't watch the news) but I've heard mumblings previously that the BBC is losing its impartiality. It would be a shame if that's the case.

Even her predecessor (himself a former Conservative party member) thinks she's crossed the line, so no YANBU.

This whole reshuffle thing just baffles me. The people involved have no power, and no prospect of power for the next four years. How come is it such important news?

She's awful. YANBU.

I couldn't agree more, as soon as I your thread title I knew what you were driving at. It's a running joke in our house and has been bothering me for months! No impartiality at all but I assume this is what the BBC want as it's been allowed to continued this long.

Yet the BBC poached her back from ITV

It's perplexing how the right accuse the BBC of being too lefty and the lefties are convinced there's an anti-Corbyn plot going on. It can't be simultaneously biased in both directions.

The way Corbynites are being outraged about media bias everywhere and demanding the sacking of any journalist who's not actively on their side reminds me a lot of Scottish independence supporters. It's a strange determination to be victims of some establishment plan against them.

I can't stand her either. I find that she spins adversely against Conservatives too. Perhaps she is just sneering about all parties. That us nit necessarily a bad thing.

I was unaware of her involvement in the resignation. If true, she has crossed a light - off to Google now...

To be fair she's less biased than the ex BBC economics editor, Stephanie F landers, who had slept with both Ed Balls and Ed Milliband!?

Either way, BBC can't win. They are accused if being biased against every party.

Well the left say she is to right wing and right say she is to left wing ergo she must be doing something right.

I think she finds it very hard to disguise her politics. I'm a little uneasy with all the stuff on Twitter about her - any journalist would love the chance to get any politician to resign live on tv. But I've always found her difficult to watch - so clearly tory. And I can watch Andrew Neil, Nick Robinson and listen to John Piennaar.

I agree with this^. BBC news is so boring and irrelevant at the moment I don't even bother watching.

My DH actually laughs every time she comes on, he just can't take her seriously (and he is a Tory voter).

She was so scathing the night before last, how many times did she say "chaos" and all that. Not appropriate for her to report this way, whatever she may privately think.

Why did BBC take her back? I thought they were well shot when she went to ITV?

Bet Mr Landale isn't very impressed - he should have got the job!

apricotdanish · 08/01/2016 16:58

Yes but she is always so scathing! As opposed to just reporting the story.

The 'outrage' on social media at the moment is ridiculous.

I dislike her presentations intensely. To me she appeared violently anti-Tory, but I agree with you about her recent reports on Labour's reshuffle.
She definitely does not come across as impartial, unless that means hating everyone (political) equally.

Not an adornment to the BBC News Department; her inexperience shows.

Yes! I've noticed her Corbyn loathing and remarked to a friend the other day that you don't usually see news reporters puckering up their faces in such obvious disdain when discussing a politician.

This whole reshuffle thing just baffles me.

I think it is that usually even whole cabinet or shadow cabinet reshuffle take no more than half a day. Therefore for it to take 2 days plus to shuffle 2 people is a bit ridiculous.

Labour I believe gave the heads up that this was going to happen before Christmas so caused some of the hype themselves

Corbyn is undertaking a REVENGE reshuffle! Heads will roll! Blah blah blah ...

I thought it was just me! She is, as others have said, so scathing and negative about everyone and every party - it's like she thinks anyone who has sought public office is some sort of criminal. Massive superiority complex.

According to my friends on the right the bbc is a left wing news channel. The friends on the left say it is biased against labour/the left. Tbh I think you just don't like what your hearing. It doesn't take a right wing bias to show that Corbin is a complete loony and completely incompetent and is running the Labour Party like the Soviet Union ran the communist party. I don't buy the whole old man look I think he is actually quite a spiteful man, this was a complete revenge reshuffle. Even Emily thornberry didn't understand why she was promoted, but it was probably because she and that troll abbot remained loyal to Corbin on Syria.
