AIBU?

Is this normal and does it really pay to be so demanding?

Am staying in a hotel on our holiday. At breakfast, dd wanted to write something, so we asked a waiter if he had any spare paper.
He brought over a few stapled sheets and she got on quietly. I thought no more of it until later when I turned it over. It's a full list of everyone stating at the hotel. It's got names, dates and what extras people are getting, with comments like "extremely fussy and demanding, treat with a lot of care"
I was fascinated and felt like a naughty school kid reading it.
Forgetting the total disregard for confidentiality, it appears that they have tried really hard to accommodate their guests' whims/needs.
It's a nice hotel, but not the Four Seasons.
Also, I have no idea what to do with it. DD's writing is all over the back, so I can't casually leave it behind the counter. I don't really want to bin it and anyway it mentions all sorts of stuff.

It was really boring for us. Thing is, I'm always saying DH is really demanding, but it just said we had a child and the room we wanted.
Now he thinks he's being too meek and mild!! Confused

I used to work in a hotel and we would put notes again rooms, every breakfast the room list needs printing and giving to restaurant so staff there know who has included breakfast and who doesn't. Was always things like - requested unlisted calls on bill, that one would aways have us speculating Smile

Set yourself up as the hotel batshit crazy mind reader who can just 'tell' who is going to do what/needs what/what size trouser press they MUST have. Ensure that you do the whole eye-rolling, body popping, slumping in a chair routine for added batshit crazy 'realism.'

Charge hard cash then split it with the waiter.

I am amazed to find this happens. Almost every request (polite and minimally demanding) request I've ever made at a hotel has been ignored or the opposite done.

WhoTF requests complimentary meal, wine and cookies?! Surely if you book a hotel for a speasily occasion it's expected you'd eat and drink?

I can understand a hotel writing "special occasion - provide complimentary bottle on x date".

I use to work for a big holiday company as a rep.
I did 2 years in a row in the same ski resort.
2nd year we had the booking through with, I kid you not, half a page of co to ously typed amendments. So add ons and requests the guest had put. After each one was please make sure it happens due to previous visit. They got free kids crèche, ski school, ski hire, lift pass, wine with meal, upgrade to full board and the exact room they wanted.
Why? Because the previous year an unprecedented storm had damaged the hotel roof and caused the slopes to be shut for the day. The guests weren't even in an affected room and everyone in resort was confined to the indoors that day. They'd made such a fuss and were horrid to everyone, were claiming a FULL refund of previous years holiday (not sure they got one) and basically the company bent over backwards to make sure they found nothing to complain about.

And the reason I could NEVER sucessfully run a business is I'd have told him to get over himself the previous year!
