To re send wedding invite ?

Hello all I've sent wedding invites out and people has to go to post office to collect (embarrassing) as they were too thick! People had to pay 11p. One of my friends has not received invite and says she has looked etc and will go post office when off on Friday. However if it isn't there do I resend? The issue is we have one invite left and want it as a souvenir!

Just tell her the details?

Yes I would resend and ask her to keep hold of it so you can have it back as a souvenir, she is unlikely to want to keep it for herself

Ouch. They'll have had to pay £1 or so processing fee too Blush

Just email her the details.

Just tell her the details, it probably turned up at the post office but she wasn't arsed to pay 1 pound handling charge plus the extra postage. I think you need to tell all your guests what has happened .

Yeah there's a processing fee too!

Just email details

Can't tell her details she's a dope. I might photocopy inside of card instead and give that to her!

How is she scatty when you didn't pay the right postage? The fault lies with you.

HahHah agreed but we didn't think the cards would be an issue weight or size wise

Gosh. How embarrassing for you. I would make sure you personally apologise to all your guests.

Yes, you must send her another invitation (photocopy if necessary). And put enough stamps on this one!

GloGirl · 08/07/2015 18:43

It'll have cost all your guests £1.11.

Were they handmade cards etc or printed ones? If printed I would send her your last one and do another print of of 10 (or whatever minimum is)

I'd send her a photograph of the invitation that you have.
I HATE IT when people don't pay enough postage. Not only does it cost me money but it takes time to have to go and collect it.

Just set up a wedding website with all the details on.
Snail mail is ridiculously expensive these days. Would probably have been cheaper to courier...

I NEVER collect post that I have to pay for

Suggest you get some postcards done sharpish and apologise and reiterate details

"She's a dope" for not wanting to trek to the Post Office and pay for the privilege of retrieving your invitation, because you ballsed it up?
What a charmer you are; I'd be absolutely mortified in your position.

Peshwari · 08/07/2015 19:31

TBH I'd consider having to resend a lot more. I generally wouldn't pick up post if there wasn't enough postage on it and I had to pay the difference plus the handling fee.

Hmm on the dope remark.

How embarrassing. Are you sure everyone else has received their invite?

I would call round the guests you have sent invites to, and also to apologise profusely if they have had to go to pay excess postage.

Up to you whether you text/email/post invite to friend.

ENormaSnob · 08/07/2015 19:45

Oh god i bet you're mortified.

I also never collect mail that wasn't paid for correctly.

To be fair to the op, I don't think she was trying to blame her friend with the 'dope' comment. Looks to me like she was just responding to the suggestion that she give the friend the details, and explaining why it would be better to give her a physical reminder of the info.

Just because she's at fault re: the postage doesn't magically make a scatty friend not scatty. Smile
