Hoseasons - you can search by area then sort by price. Never had a bad Hoseasons holiday.

We rented a cottage in Pickering, Yorkshire for £250. Did day trips to York, Hemsley, Whitby etc. Rode the North Yorshire Moors railway. Visited the Abbeys and the Air Museum. Absolutely smashing week.

Is it this school hols? Would you risk holding out for a late deal? We got a family of 3 trip to Lanzarote last year for £237 each about two weeks before we left

The real family holidays look fantastic. Surely you can't beat that - you don't even have to cook!

I meant to say my late deal was first choice and all inclusive too! Was a brilliant hotel so got a great deal.

Have a look on alfresco holidays. I got a week at a holiday park in the Netherlands, including ferry and an overnight hotel in Belgium, for around £250 for two of us on the last week of the holidays. They have deals all over Europe and some really good prices.

£800 is budget for four people, not per person!

Not for that cheap in the school holidays you can't.
If you can prove me wrong I will donate £10 to a charity of your choice! (£160pp for flights and accommodation)

Yep I'd be interested in some details on this also!
Can get a week in static in France for £650 but the tunnel /ferry plus diesel tips it over £800!

You could try looking at the sites that let the University rooms that students live in during term time, they are cheap and some are based in places like Bournemouth and Cornwall etc so make good bases. Good luck. If you really want to chance it, then go last minute overseas, Kos for example (I work in travel, Kos is not doing great this summer). The cheapest would always be sc so you'll need spending money for meals etc so might still work out cheaper to stay in the UK. Plus Bulgaria is very cheap but IMOP you get what you pay for there.
