Lancing a boil must be a 'thing' because it's a saying, right?

So; TCP, sterilised sewing needle, puncture both sides??

I find boils don't go away until they have been lanced, popped, squeezed whatever. Clean hands, sterilised needle. Lots of TCP. Hurts like hell at the time but so much better afterwards!

Get it really hot first and have a supply of hot water available to continue to draw it out.

Yes, sterilised needle, clean the area, hot flannel on the boil then prick with needle and squeeeeeeze.

Where are you? I'll come and do it if you're local.

Did someone sound the Klaxon?

Oh, a boil! Lovely! You need hot flannels, a sterile needle and magnesium sulphate paste and a video camera

There was a recommendation for a plaster that would draw out a boil overnight. I think it had silver nitrate in it.

Ooo a boil. Lovely, oh I mean poor you op. The secret is a kind of pulling apart whilst squeezing movement. You have mag sulphed to get maximum splattage I assume? and set up the lights and tripod

Mag sulph paste.

Stabbing.

The options are wndless...

I'm not sure that 10 days of magnesium sulphate paste (as per MN recommendation) has achieved anything. Hard to tell though, what with it being behind my own ear.

Sorry. I usually run from the Klaxon, being weak of stomach, so I'm not up on the etiquette Smile

It will need to be properly wobbly or with a yellow head on it for you to be able to lance it.

I just told DH that I needed him to photograph my boil so that MN could see it.

He's giving excellent Hmm face.

My DS is currently sporting a boil on his tummy. Won't let me near it. It's so ready.
