AIBU?

To ask if you think AIBUs starting with "to ask if" are not really AIBUs?

They're just attention-seeking queue-jumping bland little threads that wouldn't get the time of day elsewhere.

If the only way you can get a reply is to stick your thread in Aibu then maybe it just isn't that interesting.

Bland little threads need love too...

Honestly, why does it matter? Queue jumping? Live and let live.

"Bland little threads need love too..."

Yep. In Chat or the appropriate topic.

It's never been any different.

"I got 10 minutes sleep last night. AIBU to be tired this morning?"

Yes - fuck off and have a Red Bull.

Why does it matter? Because active convos gets clogged up with the black handbag and psychic reading questions.

It seems to be worse recently though worra.

"To wonder why" should be banned too.

I agree, though I'm not particularly enthusiastic in my agreement.

Also, how is it queue jumping? Hmm

Also, I'm sure you're aware that you've done precisely what you're irritated by in your own thread title Smile

AIBU gets a lot of traffic. Sometimes people post on the high traffic bits because they think their thread won't get noticed in the other bits. It's really not worth getting worked up about.

It's queue-jumping because it's usually putting a dull thread in the most read part of MN, where it gets a disproportionate level of replies.

It would be ok if everyone used active convos but some posters like worra only look at Aibu.

Posting for traffic should be banned too.

I don't agree with the whole 'queue jumping' thing because this is the internet and to be honest, it's not a case of standing in line. It's a case of MN having eleventy million and one topics that water everything down.

So it makes sense to post on what looks like the busiest topic at that given time.

However, I've got more respect for people who admit they're posting her for traffic, than for those who innocently pretend they meant to post in chat.

Or those who shoehorn a thread title into an AIBU question, that blatantly has nothing to do with reason.

And don't even get me started on the, "Well my husband's best friend's mother in law's cat gave me a funny look, and this made me doubt myself".

And while I'm venting, I'm fucking annoyed that fucking MN keeps fucking crashing on the fucking ipad.

Actually some posters like worra always use active convos.

Despite some posters like Mardy still busying themselves about which topic I favour, over 3 and a half years on Wink

I think some people need to look up the meaning of Unreasonable. And check if it applies to their situation. At all.

The worst is when they put a really intriguing thread title about what they've found on their DP/insert person's phone and you open it and it's a 'sorry, didn't want to put a boring title. What's the best way to boil a potato' Angry

I get a bit annoyed with thread titles that just say "Am I being unreasonable?" So that you have to actually open the thread to see what it is they're writing a thread about.

I had a really good manager once, she said if staff are not achieving the first thing she looks at is her, what does she need to do to provide support/training/change the situation.
It kind on applies here- this type thread will keep popping up until we do our MN duty move away from AIBU and chat and into other subjects, and instead of being the hundred person to say the same shit on a thread maybe move to unanswered q's.
Also I do think MN need to look into the ridiculous number of topics there are.

Anyway YABU, I have seen threads before with "to ask if", that have been true AIBU's.

Im back off to AIBU. Grin
