AIBU?

WIBU to serve chicken kiev with garlic bread and salad?

Backstory: I've got a six month old DS who sleeps really badly, so I'm permanently shattered. I've just put him to bed, and my partner is on a call for work. We usually cook together, or he cooks while I get the baby to bed.

We were planning enchiladas for dinner, which DP usually cooks. I really can't face doing it myself, so I was going to stick chicken kievs in the oven and serve them with potato wedges and salad. But the potatoes I had in the cupboard have gone bad. So would I be unreasonable to serve the chicken kievs with garlic bread and salad instead? Or should I suck it up and go and buy more potatoes? The shop is a ten minute drive away. Bear in mind that DS is likely to wake up at least once before 9pm and then possibly even 45 minutes after that for the rest if the night.

Er, I don't really know what you're asking?
Kiev with gb and salad sounds like a delicious, filling meal for a knackered day. Do it and enjoy the garlic fest! (can I come round?)

Do you have any couscous or savoury rice. Better for you with Kiev and salad.

Yes that's what my Confused face was for. I'm not seeing the problem unless there's something you missed out.

I'm asking because I'm too tired to make a decision... Your blessing on my garlic fest has brought a little smile to my face after a hard day with a grumpy baby.

Why would it BU to have Kiev's with garlic bread and salad?

No couscous, no rice. I just thought it might be too much garlic.

Ah, gotcha. Food choices do get really hard when you're shattered for some reason.

No such thing as too much garlic imo. It sounds very nice to me. Smile

I know what it's like to be so tired that even the most normal and simple decision is beyond you Flowers

The meal sounds lovely and when you are that tired the main thing is to eat.
Enjoy

Sounds absolutely fine, I certainly wouldn't be contemplating cooking anything from scratch on a weeknight with a sleepless baby. Stick the garlic bread in the oven and pour yourself a big drink. Or better still ring for a takeaway and put your feet up Wine

I keep potatoes in the fridge... I find they last longer.

But anyway, your meal sounds absolutely fine... Or if you're shattered, get a takeaway!

I also have a 6 month old who doesn't sleep. I am as tired as you sound.

We're having takeaway pizzas. Dh invited a guest at the last minute for TWO nights this weekend Hmm I refuse to cook and dh would faff indefinitely deciding what to cook and I am so hungry

Hope we both get to eat. Yours sounds delicious.

Are you kidding?

Kiev's + garlic bread + salad is a great meal.

Or a bowl or cereal, soup, omelets - give yourself a break!

Ummm, I'd put the baby back to bed and carry on with the cooking, pour a glass of wine and put your feet up, play some music and shut your eyes. He will cry himself to sleep if you leave him alone, really he will but I am probably old enough to be your mum
