I feel your pain. Dd in bed with a feverish, ds and I bored out of our minds, stuck in the flat and it's beautiful spring weather out there. Still, have made headway on the laundry at least.

are you sure they're all happy? I posted photos of my kids playing in the park next to our home.
the kids are happy.

I didn't post photos of myself. I only posted the happy photos.

Well it's not sunny here, if that's any help? Grin

People only post their happy photos.

My friend posts 'happy family photos' all the time. I know how unhappy she is, and that she had an affair last year.

I sometimes wonder who she is trying to convince...

Not sunny here either if that helps!

So true Afterthought. The more people show off their family/relationship, the more likely it is that they are unhappy.

Bloody freezing here. I'm on the sofa with a blankie.

Pissing out of the heavens here. Kids all x boxing or on computer; I am faffing about; dp is working. Have spent my entire salary in 1 day, now into overdraft fgs. Don't even know how to post a photo, if I did I would do one with a sad and grumpy face x

Facebook is a hotbed of attention-seeking, cringey, banal bullshit. My life's been so much the better without it.

YANBU.

DS has had fun outside today though after 3 days cooped up with tonsiliits/chest infection. He is knackered now though

I know what you mean! It's so lovely outside but the dc and I have been stuck inside watching DVDs all day as I am suffering from d&v bug. Even seeing the sun is making me guilty. We were going to bake but I keep falling asleep and don't it would be wise with my bug.

I agree afterthought some people try a bit too hard to show off their perfect families/life on facebook.

I have noticed amongst my FB friends there is a direct correlation between the number of happy family photos and how unhappy people in reality are.

The happiest ones I know aren't on FB.

ThreeBeeOneGee · 29/03/2014 16:54

Facebook gives you a completely skewed perspective.

Recently, I have posted photos of:
The children smiling in their smart clothes at a family occasion
The chocolate brownies DS1 made for me
DS2 and DD hugging in a coffee shop
An egg DS3 decorated at a church event

I did not post photos of:
The homework DD ripped in two after having a tantrum
The recent test results showing that DS2 got one of the lowest scores in his Maths set (not reading the questions, not checking his answers)
The email from school explaining why DS1 had been put on report
The state of DS3's bedroom floor

See what I mean?

I hate the pictures of baby bumps and scans.
After failed IVF it really hurts, but people want to share them and they shouldn't stop doing so just because it hurts one person.

Life is too short to be sad that other people are having a good time and are happy.

Your illness will pass.

pipbin that must be really hard, I'm so sorry x

Facebook is in my experience a total representation of how others wish to be seen. Nobody posts about their child failing exams, feeling jealous, or how they're really struggling.

And you have to be so work safe too, it's very sanitised.

I'm not OP. I'm sitting inside depressed as anything watching the rain spatter against the windows, wondering if I'll ever be cheerful again.

Where is this beautiful weather?
