I used to enjoy watching England it down the pub with friends, I used to follow my own team, had a general interest in football and what was going on. Not a top hobby/interest of mine but I liked to know. But now, two kids down the line, it is one interest that had to fall by the wayside. I find it boring, its all about the money and egos of the millionaire owners and players. DP says he feels hoodwinked as I came across as a pint drinking lass who liked football. I tell him I have too much to do and other hobbies I have no time for.
DP loves football, loves his own team, but will listen to anything about football at all. He listens to the radio as much as possible. This has been increasing over the years to the extent we listen to football radio on the way to days out, and now, last few days, when getting the kids ready for bed, he has started to listen to football while we get the kids ready for bed. It drives me up the wall. He tells me all about who is where in the table, about players and what they are up to, scores, cups, managers etczzzzz. I couldn't give a toss. I just don't care. At weekends, I'll try turning the radio to another station and he gets irritated and I tell him how would he fancy Jane Austen on the radio all the time?
I just seen the world cup goes on for a whole month. The build up will be fever pitch and then the football will be disappointing. I am dreading it being on the radio and tv all the time. Please tell me I am not alone.
