AIBU?

to get the rage when people are this stupid

I was on the bus the other day and heard a conversation between two mums about one of their children being quite loud and excitable.

One said to the other about her son "he is not usually this HYPO" and I proceeded to bang my head against a brick wall. The word is HYPER, and HYPO is the opposite. FFS who is teaching these people these things.

God help them if they have a child with diabetes.

So AIBU to get irrationally angry about people not knowing that HYPO is the opposite of HYPER.

You get the rage??! Wow, what do you get when something really serious happens? Grin

Yes of course YABU

Individual people have had different relationships with education and different levels of support.

I'm quite sure if they had children with diabetes they'd learn rather quickly what the difference is.

You're either going to have to stay off buses or wear a crash helmet for that head of yours.

Only if I can get angry at people writing 'cause' when they mean to write 'because'.

I love listening to peoples conversations on the bus.

I've been known to nearly miss my stop when it's been a particularly interesting conversation.

I don't get the rage though.

You don't need to get irrationally angry.

Think of your blood pressure.

haha @ blackeyedsusan

well maybe not the rage SirChenjin but it definitely causes me some angst and I do judge, and write the person off immediately as ignorant and uneducated.

It may be harsh but everyone gets a certain level of education for free in this country, and you know, there is always reading to broaden your horizons.

Perhaps they didn't know the pacific pronunctiation, it could of been that or they could of just interpretated the word wrong. Why didn't you arks them?

OwlCapone · 01/03/2014 11:26

Personally, I think people who get angry about this kind of stuff are rather stupid.

I, and the rest of the bus, 'enjoyed' the VERY LOUD description by a woman sitting at the back of the bus, to a friend about a gynaecological condition suffered by a relative, complete with excruciating details of symptoms, effect on unfortunate relative's sex life, her husband's reactions, medical examinations and procedures and what the gynaecologist had said.

When the woman got off, everyone glared at her, but she looked around with a smug smile, as though she'd got off on such an indiscreet conversation. Her companion, to be fair, looked highly embarrassed.

and I proceeded to bang my head against a brick wall

How did you manage that when you were sitting on a bus?

Report
Nancy66 · 01/03/2014 11:27

the problem with anythink like this is that you can't be too pacific.

I know you was their but you only herd a small peace of they're conversation.

I don't 'get' rage, but it does jar in my mind. It sounds odd.

I know a person who calls her crotch her 'crutch'. I'm not sure she knows she's mistaken..

Myself, I think its a ludikorous and circliar argument, or maybe its triangliar.

(unhelpful)
