My yoinger sis has just been done for this
None of us knew til her&her dp went to court
So hasbeen quite a shock!
My oldest sis is refusing to talk to her as she doesnt wanna say something she might regret
At first apparently she was ok but after a day ir so of it sinking in this is her attitude
Both my brothers&mum are still spking to her&although still tryong to get our heads round it all eould never disown her or not spk to her til we see fit to
I&one of my brothers have really bawled her out&'had a go at her'about it but are trying to move on
Her dps family have been very supportive thougj very shocked sme as us apparently
So my older sis is the only one whos reallyrocked the boat about it
i think its a bit extreme to not talk to yoinge
r sis over it
I mean shes not perfect herself!who is?
I think shes being very jidgemental&not only missimg out on a relatiomship with our sis but also her kids.she has2dds
So aibu or is older sis?

It's probably better she doesn't talk to her right now if it's still raw. As you say it's been a shock, let her have some time to get over the shock.

It depends if older sister isn't speaking to her as she believes it is morally wrong, theft and creates issues for people in genuine need then no she is NBU. But if she is jealous she didn't get the same amount and then got a small fine then she is BU.

Try slowing down a bit and reading as you type - that way you can correct errors as they happen and before you press "post".

Some people are so rude. I understand your post perfectly.

Well, your sis will cool in the water she boiled in. Ok so they shouldn't have done it but they were hardly murdering people. I am not sure its worth falling out over, but that's up to your sister.

What has actually annoyed your sister about this.

spongebob13 · 20/02/2014 13:02

its theft. of course she is pissed off. she stole from her.

Report
PandaFeet · 20/02/2014 13:06

she stole from her.

What a ridiculous thing to say. She didn't steal from her. Or any of us.

The majority of the population take more from the system than they put in. So it is very very unlikely that the older sisters taxes went anywhere towards the whole DWP budget, let alone any of the benefits the sis and her dp were claiming.

Well she stole from me. I pay into the system and don't get out more than I put in. Perhaps older sister is really ashamed of her.

that is not what it is there for. some people are lucky enough to never need to sign on. does that mean once I hit a certain age I think "fuck it, I want a rest, I'm gonna pack in me job and sign on cos sure im entitled to what I put into it".

it is stealing. it is stealing from those that need it and increases taxes. it gauls me to know I am crippled with taxes and a portion of it going to someone who does not need it. it is stealing.

I don't know your sisters' circumstances. perhaps the sister that is mad was financially struggling etc and it hits home more. in time she may come around.

She may just be embarrassed her Sister has done this, she's maybe been vocal in the past about benefit cheats and now feels that people will look at her differently once they know what her Sister has done :(
What punishment did they get if you don't mind me asking?

I think your sister has every right to her opinion and choices. I would wonder if she's so angr could she have leant your dsis money or really helped her out with things? If she had she may be under the impression that actually your sis didn't need these and was playing her as much as she played the system.

PandaFeet · 20/02/2014 13:22

I wasn't referring to the benefits system. I was referring to the WHOLE system.

NHS
Education
Infrastructure

The WHOLE system.

The whole "she stole from me" bollocks is divisive political claptrap and shame on anyone who falls for it.

Report
FoxesRevenge · 20/02/2014 13:24

Your sister is deeply disappointed and perhaps needs to get her head around it all.

Ok she stole from the whole system of which I pay tax into. How did she not steal from me. Are benefits paid by magic money rather than input from taxpayers?

My older sis has always been VERY vocal about
benefit 'cheats'as she calls it
&has VERY strong views on all that&otjer things!
so does her partner
Younger sis is by no means angry at having to go to court or the punishments they got
She knows they got ehat they deserve in her words
I dont want yo say here what they got but will say they only narrowly escaped a prison sentence

She broke the law, and committed fraud.

To make it personal is unnecessary and it is a falsehood anyway. The only way you get to have a say on what "your taxes" are spent on is by voting in elections. We are all paying into the system. We all have the right to vote. And that's as far as it goes.
