AIBU?

to be slightly addicted to AIBU?

I am a (happily) childless (gay) man.

I left a message on Mumsnet because I wanted some advice on books for my god daughter. While on, I had a quick peek at AIBU and have been addicted ever since. I always have a 20 minute browse before going to sleep.

My DCP (darling civil partner -I'm trying to start a new term) thinks that:

a. It is weird that I find it so interesting.
b. I am not welcome as I am not a mum nor female

It came to a head last night when I was crying with laughter in bed over the hamwidge thread. It was impossible to explain.

AIBU and, indeed, am I welcome?

You are very welcome, of course :)

And wait til you explore the rest of the site: it won't just be AIBU that you'll want to read!!

If you find AIBU funny, you'll be properly crying with laughter at some of the threads in Classics if you've not been in there yet!

Of course you are welcome tell your DCP (nice term) to read for 10 mins and see if he's not addicted

No, get out Wink

It is terribly addictive. Agree with the above, check out classics, though not just before bed.

I'm on every day unless I'm ill (rarely) or too much is going on (sometimes). MN definitely shares some of my 'me time'!

YANBU. I agree that you should read classics too. Anything that makes me laugh the way classics does can only be a good thing. Sometimes AIBU makes me want to hide behind my computer

Slightly embarrassed that I uploaded this thread twice and have two conversations going on. Will improve!

DCP cannot believe that I have posted this thread. He thinks it is something to do with the glass of white. Outrageous slur.

I am a childless 20-something and discovered Mumsnet specifically AIBU a few years ago. Like you, became totally addicted. DP thinks it's weird. I think he's jealous that Mumsnet offers me something he doesn't Wink

Your DCP hasn't been roped in. Yet. Give it time Wink

Yabu to be merely slightly addicted Wink

Childless here too!

Be wary of classics.... Only read when you have about a day to kill and don't read on a phone as your thumb will break from scrolling
