DH is back to work as normal now and so I'll be at home with the kids today. Woke up feeling a bit sad that its all over. Christmas Eve was a fun build up, Christmas Day was just wonderful. My parents came over and we had a fabulous day (Dh is a farmer so for him tonhavevan entire day off is a big rarity). Yesterday was nice too DH had a half day and we all chilled out.

Now it's all over, and New year is so dull and depressing. We have a party on New Years Day night but I can't be arsed with it.

AIBU to be feeling this blue just two days after Christmas?

Xmas Sad

I want to get back to normal tbh! I've enjoyed it but crave normality now.

Are you me? I feel exactly the same. It's 6pm here, DH works nights and its just mr and the kids. We had a lovely Christmas too, he had four days off which is so rare, and now it is just back to normal. Post Xmas blues big time!

OH went back to work last night after two days off. Christmas is over by Christmas day for us anyway, I did try to keep up the momentum by laying on loads of buffet food (which I'm now eating for breakfast) but with just us and a 2 year old it's not very festive.

Maybe next year!

Aaah Moley I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

Usually like you Roooibos I'm itching to get back to normal but this year I'm not!

I wish it could be Christmas every day. You know when the bells start singing and the band begins to play.

Even that attempt at humour just irritated myself.

I feel exactly the same op.
I had my whole family here for Christmas and boxing day. My db and his partner stayed over for the first time so my 2 younger dss were even more excited than usual!
Im sitting in my empty living room (only 1ds out of 3 is awake..oh at work) wishing I lived in a commune (sp?).with them all at the north pole if I'm honest
Can't wait for NYE when they all come bavk again. All we do is laugh when we're together and I really do have the most generous loving dps and dbs in the world..sorry for rambling.

Count your blessings, for it all to go so well and live up to your expectations is really all you could hope for.

Your family and Christmas sounds lovely.

We don't get back to normal until 7 jan.

We have got something on every day until next Thursday, including 3 big parties.

Sorry, liver and pancreas. I'll make it up to you both.

I am back at work today and thank god!! 2 days is enough for me, just want to get back to normal.

My stomach feels enormous, my liver is probably shot to pieces - off top play badminton with DH in a bit, bet I will be lumbering all over the court like a fairy elephant :)

I've just taken my Christmas name change off. Feels comfy to be back to being TiggyD.

I think people need to start Christmas earlier. Us nursery workers have to start thinking about Christmas early November. Some things have to be done by the first of December, such as advent calendars, and planning has to be done in readiness. As a result we have 2 months of Christmassy feeling which is just about enough for me.

I'm really relieved tbh - pressure to see family members you can't stand, presents from same that you can't stand, people you thought had gone for good texting you while probably drunk - I'm glad it's all back to normal tbh.

Plus I have my bedroom back (was full of boxes hidden under a blanket!) and can concentrate on giving birth and all that.

Tree is outside, decorations are away. I can tidy up Smile

I'm kind of glad it is over tbh. I normally love xmas but having flu from 13th to 24th Dec killed the whole thing for me. I missed all the fun parties and now I am better I feel stressed at having to sort everything out. Am even tempted to cancel my NYE party at the moment.

I am glad it's over. It was a lovely couple of days but I found the build up very stressful this year.

I am moving in less than a week and I felt I couldn't get sorted for that until Christmas was over.

Actually the nicest thing is the days getting just a teeny bit longer. I feel hopeful iykwim? Just the light in the morning and the birds singing a bit.

I dunno, it always feels positive at this point in the year.
