AIBU?

To not get dressed and go to the supermarket to buy my OH some dinner

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and had the afternoon off work to go shopping for his 50th birthday present. I spent hours walking around town finally got home, took off work clothes and put my pj's on.

The original plan was that I was going to get a take out but he's text me to say he's working late and could I plate him up some dinner as he may not be back until 10. I will be in bed asleep by then.

I'm completely off food so not really bothered about myself and it's freaking freezing out. The supermarket is about a five min walk.

Sorry pretty mundane and garbled post but I'm just so tired.

Text him and tell him to pick up a take away for himself on his way in

Is there no other food in the house?

text him back saying "sorry, no,you'll have to pick something up- i'm knackered & there's nothing in. was going to get a takeaway but seeing as you're going to be late i'm not going to bother."

He can pick up a take away or a ready meal on the way home.

All the take aways round here deliver for free. Why not order something and have it delivered?

Not really, I don't like frozen food (weird I know). He's working all hours for me and the baby so I feel I should do something.

If you were getting a take away anyway, order him something and leave it in the fridge.
He thought you were getting takeaway when he asked you to plate some up.

I would personally.

Sirzy · 09/11/2012 18:15

For future times I would get a few ready meals in the freezer so there is something quick and easy for him when he gets in late.

Order it now.

So would he not normally work if he hadnt of met you and you got pregnant?

If they don't deliver after ten, and you havent any food in, what is he supposed to have?

Report
3littlefrogs · 09/11/2012 18:17

You could have it delivered now, put it in the fridge and he can microwave it when he gets home.

Get a take out and stick it on a plate same difference if he was going to reheat what you put on the plate anyway

He would normally work but generally not from 6 am to 10 pm to get overtime and he's working tomorrow.indian and microwave sounds like a good idea, I can have a bit of a pick then.

Errr maybe you are this tired because you aren't eating properly? I know how hard it is to make yourself when you don't feel like it, but you really ought to. Pick up/order him something too while you are at it

He assumes you are still going to get a takeaway and he just wants you to put his on a plate so that he can microwave it when he gets in. Is that too much to ask? Just because you can't be bothered to eat doesn't mean he won't be hungry.

i'm with 3littlefrogs - order a delivery now and he can re-heat when he gets in. Don't go out...

Good point whoknowswhocares I just really can't face meals. I've been eating lots if fruit but can't face anything else. It's not that I've even had any sickness or anything.

Yes, OP, what would he have done if you hadn't been born, eh?

Can't you phone the takeaway and ask for the last delivery slot then keep it warm for him?

What were you thinking of having?

Report
GhostShip · 09/11/2012 18:29

OP, if you use a website called JustEat, they let you specify a delivery slot. and pay on your card!!
