Hi. I've got four part bake rolls in the cupboard. Date in them is 29th Nov but it says once opened use within 48 hours. They've been there about a week I'd guess.

Two of them had one spot of mould on each do I chucked em (am very fussy about mould!). But the other two looked fine. They are in the oven at the moment. Now I'm worried that heating them will cause any tiny bit of mould that was there to multiply!

So, WIBU (or just foolish) to eat them?

Personally I'd chuck them and have something else!

i'd chuck them if you saw mould on some of them. won't do you any harm though!

I'd probably eat them (or more likely give them to my DH while I ate something else, Grin)

You'll be fine - my scanty knowledge of mould is that a bit of bread mould won't cause any probs; it's the chicken / pork bacteria that would give you food poisioning.

I frequently cut off small green bits from bread, and I'm nearly 50!

Isn't bread mould in fact penicillin?

They'll be fine. The mouldy ones would probably have been ok as well with the mould cut off, just like with ordinary bread.

Don't waste anything! Cut off any bits of mould and the rest will be all right.

Oh well, thanks for replying!

Chuck them. Bread mold isn't like cheese mold, which only grows on the surface. It goes all the way through. [yuck]

I'd eat them, I'd have cut the mouldy bits off the others and eaten them too. I live on the edge, me.

If I had no other bread I would cut the mould off and eat them, otherwise I would chuck them.

Take off the mould, cook and eat

Bread mould one of the worst. I eat most things, but not mouldy bread.
