AIBU?

To be surprised Kate changed her bikini bottoms outdoors?

I absolutely think the Duchess of Cambridge should have privacy and I think the behaviour of the photographer was disgraceful. I am surprised though to learn that she changed her bikini bottoms outdoors. Even I wouldn't do that in my back garden on the off chance someone saw. AIBU?

YABU, she was under a towel.

Is your back garden more than half a mile from the road in all directions?

At no point was there a sign above the house saying "naked royalty here".

No matter what she was doing or what state of dress or undress she had been in, they would still have taken intrusive photos and would still have been wrong to do it.

They didn't take the photos because she was topless or getting changed - they were going to take photos anyway.

FFS there wouldn't be a problem if some dirty perv didn't take pictures with a long lens camera! Angry

Wouldn't you, Liketo? I would, quick squizz to see if any neighbours were hanging out of their windows then quick change.

Lucky we aren't all the same, eh, or life's rick tapestry would be mostly monochrome.

Please ignore first post. Rick Tapestry, indeed - possibly Rick Astley's less talented cousin.

Well she was under a towel and had the expectation of privacy.

So who is more wrong? A woman in the grounds of a private villa with her husband changing her bikini bottoms, or a creepy photographer hiding in the bushes a mile away with a telescopic lense trying to get a shot of it??

Haha! No I wouldn't! Especially not if I knew I was the most photographed woman in the world. The photographers should be prosecuted from now on. They need to change the laws. Photographers obviously won't mind about a fine because they make so much money from the pictures. But a jail sentence might not be so welcome. But until those laws are passed I wouldn't be changing outside. No.

Why should a woman, on a balcony of her private villa, in private grounds, under a towel have any expectation of privacy.

Do fuck off.

kind of naive of her imo, camera lenses must be super powerful these days though!

I cannot believe you are judging someone for that.

I hope all of you manage to close your curtains completely when you get changed. And that you've never eg had your costume slip when you're swimming. Apparently that's inviting someone to take your picture and stick it online. And perhaps link it to your social networking profile so everyone you know can enjoy it.

I live in a terrace and nipped to the bin in my garden this morning topless Grin

I have also quickly changed from undercrackers to bikini bottoms on a beach before sans towel, it is just easier.

It is only news because we are interested, I think all the royals should all line up on the balcony of Buck House in the altogether, waving, once a week until we all cease to give a damn.

Having said that, now we've had norks and foof, it seems like only a matter of time till the sex tape pops up on you tube.

I totally agree that she should be able to do what she wants on private property. I care not whether she changes in a bathroom or up a tree.

What I don't get is the need to change at all. Why do you need to sunbathe or swim in two different bikinis in one session.

I accept that my life is very different to DoC's but I just don't get it

Did you see the article the other day about some excuse for a human being taking pictures of her fellow patients (who happened to be elderly women) in their beds in a hospital ward and posting them on Facebook? I hope none of you ever intend to go into hospital.

Ooh gobblers that made me laugh a lot.

I wondered if she did it deliberately out of sympathy with Harry but accepts that is unlikely

But it was sunny - if you go to the beach you don't change bikinis after every swim? Or do you. Fully prepared to accept I am being a bit dense

I'm not judging her. She should be able to do it. But when you know dirty perverts with long lenses exist, I wouldn't if I were her.
They need to change the laws around these photographers. Then perhaps she would be able to.

At the beach, no. In a private villa with a pool, yes. You get a washing machine and everything Grin and you can go and lie on a padded lounger without making a big wet patch.

Nishky- I wouldn't if I were in a private pool. I would go inside to change or wait for the sun to dry me. I've done that loads.
