AIBU?

to have put double cream on my DD's breakfast?

There was a little full fat milk left for her cereal, which I used but I added double cream too as there wasn't quite enough.

She's wolfed it down, I haven't had a coffee this morning due to no milk, and now no cream, but now I'm wonder if cream for breakfast was really a good idea? Blush

It's fine.

Just a bit of cream not a glass of whiskey Grin

My son has cream with waffles a couple of times a month. He loves it

It's fine, kids need fat and calories. Although I wouldn't do it every day!

one off won't kill her.

My ex FIL used to have his cereal every morning with condensed milk. Needless to say it didn't do HIM any good!

Ooh, I used to love cornflakes and either milk/cream combined or evaporated milk. Yum.

The cream is better for her than the cereal!!!!! Cereal is what they used to feed to cows, until they realised humans would pay so much more for it! Wink

Thanks all - yes definitely a one off! It was either that or no breakfast as I have no bread in either. Shopping today I think.

Sheeplikessleep my DF used to put sugar in my fanta when i was little to remove the fizz (I don't like fizzy pop). Why he didn't just buy orange squash, I'll never know Grin

My children have a large dollop of double cream on their porridge of a morning. Along with a big old spoonful of soft brown sugar.

Yumza!

What cereal did she have?

Full fat milk, a bit of double cream and coco pops

I wouldn't be giving that to my kids though, there wouldn't be enough left for me, and I wouldn't sacrifice my coffee for their breakfast either. I'm a great Mum me.

A little bit of cream is a lovely treat on cereal.

I'm always trying to squeeze calories into DS - this is a great idea! Will do this from tomorrow.

A one off for your DD won't do any harm.

Mmm, we used to fight over who had the Top of The Milk on our cereal when we were kids.

Outragedatthepriceoffreddos she had rice crispies Aldi's own version she's a strange child and doesn't like porridge and only just started eating weetabix a few weeks ago. She's 13 months. And I very nearly didn't sacrifice my coffee, but she did sleep 6 hours solid last night so feel refreshed this morning for a change Wink

I've been known to tell DS there's no milk and he can have toast or dry cereal before so I can have a cup of tea Blush

Strangely he always chooses the dry cereal.

I agree with PostBellum. Cream is better for her than cereal.

The top of the milk used to solidify in the bottle neck in our bottles. I couldn't bear it, it horrifed me! My mum used to dig it out with a knife and relished it. After she ate it she then used to cry and moan about how she shouldn't have eaten it and how fat she was Confused so cream is fine as long as you don't go off on one like my mum :o
