Saw them again on Friday. I still aspire to join their ranks even though I can still only strum open strings. I luffs them.

They jammed all night just outside my caravan at Glastonbury a few years with a drummer, I might get round to forgiving them one day.

Now, to me, that would be the only a good reason to go to Glastonbury. But I am sorry for your ukulele-induced pain.

Thank you, RaisinDEtre. I was worried that there might be a sudden rush of ukulele haters.

I LOVE them! We saw them at Womad and were absolutely transfixed. Particularly when they played Britney Spears....

SeventhEverything - did you, ahem, used to have another MN name? I certainly remember someone's fervent lurve for Jonty. Plenty of jokes on Friday about how he doesn't look like John Simm but John Simm looks like him.

They have changed their set list since I last saw them and now do Adele and Lady Gaga as well as the Dick Barton theme.

The woman who sang teenage dirtbag is utterly amazing. I wish I had the fraction of her cool and courage!

Teenage dirtbag lady is Esther. On a previous ukulele thread, Jonty's inamorata and I hatched a plan that I would replace her in the orchestra, on the basis that she might be the sort of woman who would take extended maternity leave, thereby creating a vacancy for me. She and Kitty rock.

Seen them five times. I remember Kitty when she was Sheeny (of Sheeny and the Goys)

Esther and her rendition of teenage dirtbag and the "You Don't Bring me Flowers" have cheered up an otherwise utterly crap day. They are quite bonkers, and I never thought Ild be listening to ukelele music, but they are absolutely magnificent.

I lufs the Uke!

I volunteered for an arts event in Manchester where Under 5's were taught to play the Ukelele, 3 times a day for 2 weeks. By the end of it I knew the song 'Super Dooper Musical Heroes' off by heart.

My Uke is orange - what colour's yours?

Yes, Hester.

::hangs head in shame::

I am now listening to the Ukes in the car. My family is not happy, but it brings me joy.

Mine is just balsa wood colour, but I think I might customise it. Still can't play it though.
