yesterday when coming back from the shop, I noticed my already full wheelie bin lid was up and there was a red bag in there.

I knew it wasn't mine and that none of mine had put it in there so I picked it out and took it in, it contains...

an old lung ( for those of you who don't know this is a contraption made out of a plastic bottle for smokng cannabis)
Many empty pill packets
Many (packaged) syringes
Many empty sealy bags
A snapped in half bank card belonging to someone who frequents next door neighbours house
and a NEEDLE! packaged, but still!

Next door neighbour is a dealer, and has been raided quite recently - I'm guessing this is why he's chosen to put his filth in my bin, just in case?

Yesterday I was raging, if I had have seen him, I would definitely have said something. But now I'm not so raging, calmed down a bit and starting to feel like chickening out of sayig anything.

I've just come out of a period of nasty metal health problems, do I really want to invite trouble onto myself now, when I'm feeling good?

My sister told me to hand it in to police, but that is definitely not an option - I have to live here and they don't play nice.

Do I just leave the bag in my bin and not say anything? take it out and put it back in his bin, again without saying anything, or do I stand up for myself and screw the consequences?

Having been in a similar situation I would just throw it back in their bin and say nothing. There isn't really a lot you can do and do you need the hassle that could easily come with saying anything?

I'd ignore it, but anonymously report him for continued dealing. After all if he's already been raided its not like he's not known to the police.

You can't leave syringes and needles, packaged or not, in a bin, they are a risk to anyone that handles your rubbish. I would remove the bank card, and contact the police for advice on disposal, making out you don't know where it came from.

Phone the police tell them it was in your bin and could they come and remove it, Thats what I would do especially if it was a needle or take it to your local tip and hand it in,

I'd contact the police

I don't think I'd want to leave a load of old used syringes for the binmen to deal with

it is a packaged needle, in like a little green see through case. It isn't an exposed sharp.

Phoning the police is not an option - even if I say I don't know where it came from, they know hwose bin they put it in!

Go and hand it in then dont get them to come to your house because of the neighbour they won't land you in trouble with them and this is probably the evidence they are looking for and the dealer gets away with it,

I thin you mean "bong" OP.

put it in his bin. but i wouldnt say anything.
do you want to report him to the police?

Report
qo · 23/09/2012 12:46

Yes and next door knows he put it in my bin, if I go to the police in anyway shape or form, they know it's come from me as it was it was in MY bin.

I am not phoning or going to the police with it, 100% on that.

I have no other option but to live here, I hate it enough as it is without adding being harrassed and terrorised for being a grass into the mix

Your options are to either put it back in his bin, take it to the police with or without the bank card, or if you feel you can talk to him just say I don't care what you do in your own house, but I would prefer it if you didn't put this sort of thing in my bin and hand him back the bag.

You know I am thinking how hard it must be for you put it back in his bin

It doesn't matter if its packaged, you can't put sharps into domestic rubbish, it's irresponsible. Take them to a pharmacy if you don't want to call the police.

Drug dealers are not known for being pleasant people though so it may come back on you . I still think id try and dispose of it safely though

Report
slartybartfast · 23/09/2012 12:54

say nothing, put it in his garden if it is hard to put it in his bin. i dont think you should organise taking someone else's rubbish anywhere.

Report
puds11 · 23/09/2012 12:54

Yep katie, its def called a lung. Although have to admit there was a split second when i though you meant a human lung!!!

Report
slartybartfast · 23/09/2012 12:54

even if it was innocent rubbish, your bin was still full.

Report
Tiredmumno1 · 23/09/2012 12:54

I am not sure if the pharmacy will take the sharps, as it's usually the council that deal with that and dispose properly, you could try though
