To think that Bob Crow is

the most smug, self serving, champagne socialist ever to have ever walked the face of the earth. Did you hear him on LBC? www.lbc.co.uk/should-bob-crow-have-a-council-house-59141

(Will happily consider other candidates.)

Well the queen has several council houses so I don't see why Bob Crow shouldn't have one.

Yes. Smug. Horribly smug. And kind of creepy TBH.

Bah I've just listened to it and feel even more cross. I didn't like the man before, I really dislike him now. Self entitled is an under statement. Surely he shouldn't be living in a council house now? There are so many people desperate for a house and sitting on a waiting list. It's insane.

His quote: "Why should we have to move to another area, when we've grown up for thirties years with the people around us" He's on a 6 figure salary, he doesn't need to move area, he can afford a decent house in the same area surely. Then the presenter says, what about people who need it more than you and he says: "What if I hadn't have had this job, my wealth wouldn't have come into it as well" talk about an irrelevant argument

Totally agree.
I would run him over if I saw him crossing the road.

Also pompous. He's icky.

I was surprised James Whale let him off the hook so easily. Thought he had more about him. Crow does appear to have quite an intimidating presence about him (although it didn't seem to help him much on HIGNFY).

I heard him talking once on how the real objective of his union wasn't to get a better deal for his members but to bring down capitalism entirely.... Hmm Doesn't start with saying no thanks to that big capitalist pay packet, obviously.

I would like to nominate George Galloway as a candidate for the most smug, self serving, champagne socialist ever to have ever walked the face of the earth

You forget Mr A 'can't stop at just the one glass of champagne' Blair, surely?!!

Or Mr P 'have that man scrubbed and sent to my room with a glass of champagne' Mandelson....

I have never liked him, indeed any Union rep. But his communication skills, dire? no wonder he is a rubbish negotiator.

Frank Dobson (Labour MP) has a council flat in a mansion block in central London for which it is thought he pays around £160/week when a similar flat could cost £1000/week on the private market. He opposes sale of £1 million council houses.

According to Guido Fawkes Frank Dobson also owns a large private house just outside York where he was born and educated.

He does a good job for his members, though. Rates of pay, terms and conditions are fairly good in his industry compared to similar jobs elsewhere. There are so many fat cats from the boss class, in a way it's nice to chalk one up from the other side.

Shall I add Mr Dobson to the shit list? Wink

(Maybe I'm just cynical because I spend thousands every year with First Crapital Connect and resent the big bosses living the life of Riley in return for making my life hell.)

I have to admit to a sneaking reluctant admiration for Mr Mandelson, he's like a pantomime villain. I see him resplendent in a black cape with red silk lining, putting everyone under the 'fluence.

(Got to nip out to take the boys for pre back to school haircuts. Will be back later. Perhaps we can organize a Smug Tosser's Top Ten if their are enough nominations)

Shock did he say he reckons all his neighbours on his street don't work or pay full rent?
How presumtuous!

Bob Crow defies description. A more hypocritical man would be hard to find.

I hate that vile bullying attitude he has. You just know that, post war, he would have been right up there sending the women home and belittling their efforts, or keeping them on unequal pay so that the men could do the job 'properly'.

He makes me stabby.

But still not as much as Prescott did.
