AIBU?

To remember word for word

Lyrics from over 20 years ago?

Was cleaning the kitchen after tea when one of my old favourite songs came on. Cue me using a mixing spoon as a microphone. I knew EVERY word, including the 'geetarr'. DD (5yo) wandered in to me rocking round the kitchen, rolled her eyes and left, DH is questioning my sanity.

IABU?

YANBU at all. I think I know the lyrics to every Erasure song in existence Blush. It's definitely lyrics from a certain era I remember - sign of an adolescence spent with headphones clamped permanently to my head. I know a lot of Smiths lyrics off by heart as well ....

Yes!
And I used to get 'smash hits' and learn all the, frankly awful, lyrics

A decade or so ago, some boy band or other had covered a song I remembered from my own teens (70's). DS2 was very impressed that I knew all the words - till I confessed. Grin

YANBU to use a mixing spoon as a microphone

YADBU to not sing at DD and DH and force encourage them to do backing vocals or at least some dancing

I too would be an evil genius if my brain remembered normal stuff rather than lyrics, adverts and jingles...

I did try and involve DH and DD, they weren't interested. MurderBloodstabsandgore Your DH is awesome just for remembering that track!

I have one of those brains that retain lyrics above all else Grin. I remember everything: advert songs, chants and songs from pre-school and every song since it seems.

I cannot remember anything useful ever. It is only a useful skill if you are prepared to go on game shows with Shane Richie and I Am Not.

Sue I am the same, plus I do useless facts and trivia, and I will not do game shows!
