AIBU?

To think that if we all had kittens instead of children we'd be much happier?

And AIBU could be closed?

If we all had kittens we wouldn't have to worry about:

schools (lunches, instrument tuition, teachers)

Party invitations

Cooking (why would you cook when you can buy stuff in pouches??)

Childminders/Nurseries

MILs/Grandparents

Supermarket Shopping (parking, people 'looking' at you etc..)

The world would be a better place TBH. (and yes, I am the mommy to a new kitten and am in love!!)

No because they'd grow into cats and shit in other people's gardens Grin

and they'd get fleas, at least nits stay on their heads and don't infest the carpet

You can use heavy duty chemicals on cats, you wouldn't have to go through the hell of nit combing.

Mind you, I 'spect some kitty mommies would...just to be better than the rest of us. 'AIBU to spend 6 hours flea combing my cat rather than buying some frontline....'

I can see it now....

Nextdoor's child keeps shitting in my garden

My child won't sleep anywhere but the kitchen worktop

How can I prevent every child in the neighbourhood from entering my house via the cat flap?

My teenage child wants to get her 8 nipples pierced

you'd still get competitive kittening

my kitten can't shred the curtains yet, AIBU?

my kitten has only drawn blood from my ankles 3 times this week, yet it's attacked DH 6 times, i think it prefers him..

*disclaimer, this is NOT in any way directed at wonderful cat-rescue type MNers

You're right it's a bad idea. There'd be kitty schools, mummy and kitty parking spaces, G+T kitties, PFB kitties etc...

Worms, can, all over the shop.

Can MNHQ delete this thread, I've scared myself with my vision of the future.

Weeeell, happier I don't know. Have sat up half the night waiting for a kitten who hasn't been going out for very long, worrying about big bad things happening.

At least you can phone a teenager....

Kerrymumbles would be the one in the office moaning when she has to cover colleagues for kitty leave.

The trouble with kittens is that they don't stay kittens. They get all secretive and aloof.

The good thing about children is that they don't stay children, etc Grin
