Aibu in thinking you prob shouldn't tell them? I have no idea whether I do look like her, and have certainly never been told so before. But we were at our first party last night since dd born, and just as dinner was starting, a very lively jumpy lady who was sitting at our table and had been chatting to me in her seat jumped up and whispered to me that I looked like tracy emin. She said "coming from me, that's a compliment". I don't really feel like it was though. She said it right after she found out I was married to dh, I think she had been set up with him in the past and he was not interested. Also apparently she has bipolar, which explains her manic behaviour otherwise all evening. But I felt like the comparison was meant to make me feel a bit bad - aibu?

I wouldn't be flattered, no. I suppose there are people who find her attractive though, so it perhaps was a compliment.

It's not unreasonable of her to say you do if you do and without knowing if you do or not, how can we say if you are being unreasonable?

Having said that, it doesn't mean you're not attractive...sometimes someone can just pull a quick expression that can put you 'in mind of' someone else if you see what I mean.

Its kind of irrelevant given who it came from isn't it? If it was a good friend or even someone you vaguely knew, maybe that would be an issue but this was just a (probably) pissed stranger who possibly had an agenda to boot.

Can't put up a pic as in car. But if any comments are made on my looks it is normally to say I am pretty, and I usually hear Kirsty Gallagher. I like te, but she isn't really an oil painting (!)

I know someone who looks like Tracey Emin and curiously enough have passing acquaintance with Tracey Emin. The lookie likey is younger more stunning version and is BEAUTIFUL. TE proper looks lovely when dressed up, but has an off day like the best of us.

Tracy Emin's looks come from her father having been descended from north African Sudanese slaves, and also the fact that she was a twin and had severe calcium deficiency through which she lost all her front teeth.

So there's nothing to be ashamed of, she is who she was born to be and that's beautiful.

a friend of mine looks like adele, who i think is beautiful BUT my friend is also very sensitive about her weight so i can't tell her as she wouldn't think it was a compliment, IYSWIM :(
