AIBU?

To be pissed off my neighbours are growing cannabis

I've just noticed from the upstairs window they have a cannabis plant in their green house! It's bad enough that they are noisy, throw their fag butts in the road outside our house, keep us up till 3 am with all their mates getting pissed and are basically just chavs.

I want my ds to grow up in a nice environment (my house and garden is) and not to be surrounded by these fuck wits and their weed!

Then report them anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111

Report them then (to the rozzers).

Growing it is 'frowned' upon Grin

yanbu, if you are sure it is a cannabis plant call the police (non emergency no).

Report
purpleplump · 28/06/2011 15:10

Its a class b substance isnt it? Phone police they can be arrested and charged with possession and (surely) intent to supply?
YANBU and I would have been straight on phone to police.

for one plant they won't get in trouble at all - it will be classified as 'personal use'

Also, until its dried out its not really smokeable - or sellable

I thought the OP was going to say she was pissed off because they weren't sharing any...

I'll get my coat.

We've got problem neighbours aswell. Do you own or rent and do they?

Report
JanMorrow · 28/06/2011 15:14

Careful, because they'll probably know who reported them (if you're the only one who can see their greenhouse). For the sake of one plant I think it's something that can be ignored.. it's the other antisocial behaviour you should concern yourself with. Have you had a word about noise with them?

Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:17

Insomnia11 your post made me laugh!! I'd happily shop them but I'm sure nothing will happen as it's only one plant!

Sooty we own the house but they rent, they take absolutely no pride in their home, myself and my oh spend lots of time making our home as nice as possible and I'm fed up with them ruining it!

If you were going to call the police, complain about the noise, but they'll do nothing about a cannabis plant I wouldn't have thought.
You say you saw it in the greenhouse from your upstairs window.
How do you know it's cannabis?

Report
kickingking · 28/06/2011 15:25

Are you sure?

I thought somebody was growing cannabis once, but they weren't. Blush

Bast · 28/06/2011 15:27

If they were your ideal neighbours, I take it you wouldn't be considering reporting them?

SootySweepandSue · 28/06/2011 15:27

You have my sympathies. I don't think there is a non self damaging way to deal with shot neighbours but I'm also watching this thread. Do they work?

That would be shit neighbours

MadYoungCatLady · 28/06/2011 15:28

Its only one plant? Wouldn't get my knickers in a twist over it. If they are that bad it may chill them out a bit!
Also, do you know the reason behind it being there? Is it possible it is being grown for medicinal purposes? I'd feel pretty terrible if I found out it was to help someone in pain and I had been responsible for it being taken away.

I, personally, detest my neighbours nosing into my garden from their upstairs windows, however, I am sympathetic to their momentary escape from the mundanity of their lives. If I'm in a really generous mood, I flash them.

Report
TrilllianAstra · 28/06/2011 15:31

Are they going to share it?

Report
Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:31

Lady I know what the plants look like , they are very distinctive and it's the only plant in the green house. The other day it disappeared as they had their nephew round but it's reappeared now. Suppose least they remove when they have kids round!

If you can't smell it, it's not there.

Or shit and not worth being there, hence, it probably isn't as not worth the risk.

Report
SootySweepandSue · 28/06/2011 15:34

Have any other neighbours seen it or share your sentiments?

I would be worried it was the start of a farm or something.

Report
Bast · 28/06/2011 15:35

Jesus. Do you know what a farm entails?

Could be a well maintained and nurtured mother plant. In which case she's special

Report
Emandwilliam · 28/06/2011 15:37

Right I'm just not gonna look. None of my business! Live and let live and all that.
