"Ready in minutes from frozen, in chicken or bacon and egg flavour" ... The very thought is vile, they make cheese strings look nourishing. Retch.

What are they exactly? I've never heard of them.

I was just thinking that!!! I might just get the dcs to lick a lump of lard and gargle dog poo for all the good those things will do!

They do look utterly hideous

I mean, they are savoury pop tarts

What is a Toast Me?

YADNBU - I have been shouting and/or tutting at the TV every time the ad comes on.

You just know that they will split in your toaster and it'll smell all "burnt plastic chickeny" everytime you want toast from now until you buy a new toaster... (which won't be for at least 20 years, because noone ever buys a new toaster for the hell of it)

Making cheese on toast would take the same amount of time

Gah ...

I just saw the advert - they look disgusting! How they got the kid to smile I don't know...

ThatDamnDog · 17/10/2010 20:53

They appear to be breaded squares of egg and bacon or chicken flavoured something - feck knows what - which you toast and, according to the advert anyway, feed to your hungry child. WTF's wrong with oatcakes?

Glad I'm not alone in my disgust.

Just googled, www.fdin.org.uk/2010/08/toastable-meat-snack-launches-in-the-uk/

'Toast Me! is a straight-from-the-freezer toastable snack, with a range of different fillings available in a crumbed, toast-shaped casing. The snack product is available in the UK in the Chicken Toast Me! and the Bacon & Egg Breakfast Toast Me! variants.'

Vile. Pop Tarts are pretty vile too...
I bet these are suitable for vegetarians... surely there can't actually be meat in there...

Ah Random, how foolish. The site clearly states:

'Due to the patented production process of Toast Me!, the toaster stays as clean as if a normal slice of bread was being toasted and keeps its shape without any fat escaping.'

Grin

Still. Surely it would smell vile? What happens if one cracks or something?

Bacon and Egg flavour, yuk. Bacon and eggs, yum though. What is wrong with a piece of toast?

vile vile vile. They've tried to make the mum look all down to earth and primarky like the Iceland and Bright House ads too, exactly the same clothes. When obviously she is evil and hates her child or why feed him molten muck in sealed bread?

Saw the advert for the first time tonight and thought the same thing. They look about as appetising as a slice of bread fried in oil for a few days.
