I've defrosted a pack of sausages and a pork fillet. I'll probably do the Hairy Biker's sausage casserole tonight, and marinate the pork fillet to do pork char siu tomorrow, and have it with egg fried rice. We're currently awaiting the result of DH's Covid test (likely to be negative, he's fine), so can't get any shopping in (they don't deliver, we're very rural) - so it's a good thing I've planned for this eventuality and we're not going to starve!

Tonight is steak pie, roasties and green beans, my son's choice. Randomly the recipe is by John Barrowman, of Doctor Who fame! It is properly luxuriously meaty and worth the 3.5 hours cook though!

Tomorrow is gnocchi and tomato sauce bake, with lots of veg crammed in.

In the week I try to go meat free at least 3/4 evenings, so we tend to choose meaty or more extravagant dinners at weekends. Especially at the moment. Small pleasures!

mmmm I am not a soup lover but I like to put red lentils in soup. Lovely.

I do a chilli, sweet potato, red lentil and coconut milk soup topped with coriander and lime which goes down well.

Homemade pizza (topped with leftover roast chicken and peppers) for one dinner and sausages, mash and beans for the other. Not sure which order they’ll be in yet, depends what time I start cooking. Lunches are the same as midweek- sandwiches or a tin of soup.

I made some mushroom soup for lunch. Dd's had Heinz chicken soup as they don't like mushroom. Were having a chicken tray bake, with a sweet potato/potato gratin thing, and some veg for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is tuna pasta bake, nice and easy and kids favourite.
